| Fisher Comes 3rd As Titans Win No Awards Coach Jeff Fisher, head coach of the number 1 ranked team in the NFL, received a shocking 3 votes for coach of the year, while Dolphins head coach Tony "i make a you sleep with the fishes" Sparano came second and Mike "thank God for Michael Turner" Smith came first. Now im assuming Sparano and Smith received more votes because they improved their teams records and they are both rookie head coaches, but were the teams not already good before they got there? Were they really better coaches all year round than Fisher was this year? This latest award, along with James Harrison winning the defensive player of the year, means that at the end of one of the most impressive seasons in Titans/Oilers history, no individual player (or coach) has won an award...is this right? Fishers vs Smith? Haynesworth or Finnegan vs Harrison? CJ vs Matt Ryan?

As far as CJ vs Matt Ryan, I quote this: Let’s review: Johnson was drafted by a 2007 playoff team and helped it improve by three games. He touched the ball on 30.2 percent of the snaps and contributed 29.7 percent of the yards for an offense that finished 21st in the NFL. (The Titans’ defense, which carried the team, was ninth.) Quarterback Matt Ryan was the third overall pick, going to a team in disarray that had four victories in 2007. He helped the Falcons improve by seven games over last season with arguably the best season ever by a rookie quarterback. He touched the ball on 100 percent of the Falcons’ 1,011 plays, contributing to 61.3 percent of their yards. The Falcons finished sixth in total offense and 24th in defense, so there is no question which part of their team carried them.

| Re: Fisher Comes 3rd As Titans Win No Awards I know you guys are Titans fans, and I think Fisher did a great job, but... COME ON! Miami was terrible last year, still trying to dig out from the mess Saban left them. Atlanta not only had to overcome the Michael Vick thing but also Bobby Petrino's sudden departure. There's no doubt that both deserved to be rated ahead of Fisher -- who, like I said, did a marvelous coaching job in his own right. But to take those two franchised to the playoffs after the previous years each they had? Amazing. Almost akin to the coaching job someone would have to do to get the Raiders or Lions to .500 next season. Of course, as titans #1 points out, this was a great year for good coaching. Not just the Ravens coach, but how about Whisenhunt in Arizona as well?
