| Titans to give QB Leftwich a look Free agent Byron Leftwich will visit with the Titans later this week. Yes, he's alive. Leftwich's visit reportedly does not indicate concern with Vince Young, who's learning a new offense, but could mean the Titans are looking for competition for backup Kerry Collins. Collins turns 36 later this year and is in a contract season. This marks Leftwich's first formal free agent visit of the offseason. He was the No. 7 overall pick in 2003. “He’s played in the league. He’s been a starter in the league. He’s won a lot of games. We’re bringing him in just to work him out and see where he’s at and even give him a physical and have him throw to some receivers that we’re also trying to determine whether we put on our ready list or not,” coach Jeff Fisher said. Leftwich visit no big deal, Fisher says | www.tennessean.com | The Tennessean |

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look im not to worried about this, i mean im happy with Collins as back up (surprisingly) and we brought in another 'down and out' QB around this time last year, Tim Rattay and he barely made it through camp |

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look Unless he has improved a lot, and I mean a lot, there is no way he could compete with Young. Leftwich wanted to start but maybe he finally figured out he better take what he can get. Its the only way to show what he can do.

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look well im glad someone is giving him a chance to show what he can do but i would never think that anyone could challenge Young right now |

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look Eventually, realization sets in that, you can want a starting job all you want, but you're not going to get one, and the bottom line is you still need to find a way to play football and make money. Leftwich may yet get another chance somewhere down the road, due to merit or injury, but at least it sounds like he's wising up a bit.

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look I dont think the titans have any intention of signing Leftwich, they just wanted to know what kind of shape he is in so in case vy or collins is injured they have a good idea of who to go after. |

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look Yeah but you have to remember that we aren't bringing him in as a starter, its just to have him there and use him for different reasons |

| Re: Titans to give QB Leftwich a look no mistake in this one he wont start he will bring compition for the second and third string practice and the titans are really familiar with leftwich the titans have played him twice a year when he played for the jags and once last year against the falcons so its not like the titans dont know what there getting if they sign him |
