ESPN ranks Titans O-Line 17th in the NFL??????

The Saints, Eagles, Bucs, Jets, Bengals and Cardinals all have better offensive lines that the Titans according to ESPN.

The Bucs? The Cardinals?!?!?!?!?! I am putting the link at the bottom of the post to honor ESPN thinking that the Titans have bargain basement talent.

Sometimes I just flat hate ESPN. Just because we are in a small media market doesn't mean we suck. It is the same thing every year and I am sick of it. We could start the season 6-0 and we will get about 2 minutes from ESPN on how we are still too young and won't hold up against the rest of the league. The only time you can see a Titan highlight is if they are praising the Colts or showing footage of that jerk Pacman Jones. Yeah I said it, PACMAN!

Sorry if my frustrations have turned me into a babbling idiot but you have to admit that lumping in a shot at Jones was fabulous.

Re: ESPN ranks Titans O-Line 17th in the NFL??????

Hi Brian and welcome to GoteamsGo,

no i totally agree with you about the O-line being ranked so low but they base it normally on 2 factors...the first being statistics and the second being the 'familiarity' of the players on the line, by this i mean if you can name more than 2 players on the O-line then they are normally ranked in the top 5, but as with most stories like this i think that they can rank us at 32nd in every category...if we end up there at the end of the season everyone gets what they expect...but when we end up finishing in the top 5 like we did with our defense last year, who is the one with egg on their faces?

I do think they have one valid point, though, guys: Mawae's getting awful long in the tooth.

Re: ESPN ranks Titans O-Line 17th in the NFL??????

I did think we should have taken a serious look at a center in the 2nd to 4th rounds of the draft. I like Mawae but he only has 1-2 good years left in him. That is all we need out of him. There are health concerns with him but most of the teams that are ranked higher than us have the exact same question marks.

The truth is that pre-season rankings amount to squat and it is ridiculous to get so fired up about it. I pretty much look for anything to quarrel about when it comes to ESPN and there lack of attention towards the Titans.

So I don't have to hear how big of a hipocrite I am from friends and family....yes I watch ESPN. There ya go.

Not like there are many options. Fox Sports is worthless. I miss CNN/SI.
