Cowboys Up The Ante For Pacman

As reports and rumors fly of the long-awaited trade between the Titans and the Cowboys for cornerback Pacman Jones, Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper reports that the ‘Boys have increased their offer for Jones, who remains on suspension more than a year after being booted from the league.
Per McCormick, the new offer is “significantly more” than the late-round pick (reportedly a sixth-rounder) that the Cowboys previously put on the table.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reported on Sunday that a deal could be done as soon as Tuesday.

Re: Cowboys Up The Ante For Pacman

i want a third round pick or a fourth and another pick next season...look the thing the Cowboys don't seem to get is, we aren't bothered about having Pac on the team, we aren't trying to off load him to the quickest buyer, so low balling us wont make a difference because all that will happen is that we will retain a third year return man/DB who has the potential to do very well in the NFL

I dont think theres anyway in dixie that the 'boys would give up a 3rd round, but I could see a 4th and maybe a player..

I dont particularly want to see Pacman on the Cowboys but I think the Titans wouldnt mind getting rid of him. If he stays in Tennessee, he is around the same influences that got him in trouble before. He needs a fresh start. Maybe New England.
I know that Dallas has a lot of strip joints but I think if he went to Dallas he'd manage to keep his nose clean a year.
Didnt you hear what he said on the Michael Irvin radio show? That he wasnt saying he would never go into strip joints again. Personally, I think he needs to do more than stay away from strip joints, but most people dont take his remark as being very on the positive side. I am afraid to find out what Dallas actually has offered for him.

I personally think the Cowboys should give up a 3rd rounder this year and 5th or so next year or simply a 2nd rounder this year. Lost in all of this Adam Jones talk is how good a player he is rather than all of his problems. Jones seems like a changed man and if he sticks to it the Cowboys could be getting the next Darrell Green! Surely that's worth a second round pick! C'mon, does anyone agree with me?

The Cowboys should give them a 5th rounder and a player, as good as Pacman is on the field he is too much of a risk off the field.

No way Dallas gives up a first-day pick for him. Heck, has Jones even been officially reinstated?

no not yet, someone is delaying his reinstatement (i don't know whether its his agent or the Titans) until a trade has been decided

too much to give up...he could be another Green...he could end up in a Dallas jail cell...offer a third and that's all.

See, I can't understand it if it's the Titans, unless they'd owe him a roster bonus if he's reinstated before being traded. I'd think you'd want a trade partner to know for sure that they'd have him for the season ahead; otherwise you'd be hurting his trade value.

i think its almost as if we are holding him ransom...basically saying give us what we want or a decent trade or we wont allow him to be reinstated because once he is reinstated he will be free to do what he wants...'pretty much'...so by holding back and not allowing him back in we still have control of him and no other team can touch him until we give the go ahead

No. Giving up that much for a player that has been arrested as much as he has, and suspended for a year is foolish. I don' think they should make a deal at all.

He still isn't reinstated, and he seems to feel he is the one who has been done wrong.

He is talented, but also a loose cannon and a jerk.

Let him stay in Tennessee, or the wrestling ring, or wherever else his loser ass wants to hang out.

Actually it is Pacman himself who is holding up his reinstatement. He was supposed to apply on Tuesday but says he wont apply for reinstatement until he is traded.

Re: Cowboys Up The Ante For Pacman

I think he'll be reinstated. A third rounder from the Cowboys is the least Jones should be traded for. It's better than the 6th rounder they first offered. This is an interesting situation here.

Re: Cowboys Up The Ante For Pacman

the titans should keep him so the other teams can see what he can bring to the table and than see what trade offers there are next season or the titans might just decide to keep him.
