Titans eye Longhorns Sweed and Charles

Could the University of Texas connections continue with the Tennessee Titans? The Titans have already found success by drafting former Longhorns quarterback Vince Young two years ago and snagging tight end Bo Scaife the year before that. Now, a pair of other Longhorns prospects could be of interest running back Jamaal Charles and receiver Limas Sweed to the Titans. The Titans are interested enough in Charles to host him for a visit April 16-17, according to his agent Justin Schulman, while talk continues among draft experts and some Titans fans that Sweed could be a good fit for Young, since there is familiarity with each other from their University of Texas days. -- Nashville City Paper

Re: Titans eye Longhorns Sweed and Charles

i've kept my eye on Sweed and he seems like a god pick and i think would do well for us because i think its been proven that it doesn't matter who we draft, they could do badly or well...however i do have a few negative points:
1. being that all the publicity surrounding him will result in him going before we can take him
2. his size...he doesn't seem like a big, tough receiver, he seems like one that is quick and can give us the deep ball option but doesn't seem to physical
3. we may be at a stage where we simply cannot pass up taking Sweed if he drops to number 24 and thus we could end up wasting a first round pick on a player that doesn't do well, and the stats show that first round receivers are not the best.

sweed would be a good pick.we need a WR that can go and get a deep ball.we have a physical reciever with gage and crumpler and we will get better as he gets some years under his belt.if he does drop to 24 and the titans pass on him who will the titans draft instead?

the titans have to go for sweed in the draft. getting him would make their offense sore. i believe they have gage on the outside already and they could put sweed opposite him. and the titans also have crumpler at tight end as a passing target. young will greatly benefit from having a receiver that he is already comfortable with and can make plays

Thumbs up Re: Titans eye Longhorns Sweed and Charles

Trade Pacman for Bengals Chad Johnson and draft a running back such as Charles. Offense would be 100% fixed.
