Draft Rumours and Givens Out

With Coach Fisher out in Indy observing the combine, he has had is eye on a few players including running back Earnest Byner and offensive tackle Chris Williams.

It has also been said that the team will part ways with veteran wide receiver David Givens (finally) though Givens will receive a nice chunk of change for his troubles.

There is also a doubt over the future of Mike Williams, the ex Raider who was signed to the team around Thanksgiving, may not be with the team next season as his future with the team is all down to how he handles his weight

Givens Expected To Be Released

Titans wide receiver David Givens is expected to be released by the Titans next week.
Givens is due a $500,000 roster bonus before free agency begins on February 29th, but the Titans wouldn't have to pay that if they parted ways.
Givens signed a five-year contract worth $24 million, with an $8 million bonus, in March of 2006. Since then he's been unable to shake injuries, like many of the former Titans free agent wide receiver acquisitions.
Givens tore a left knee ligament on a freak play against the Baltimore Ravens on November 12, 2006, where he fell to the ground after he planted his leg on the second play of the fourth quarter.
He hasn't seen the field since.
A year later, still hindered by the same injury after recently having surgery again, his tenure with the Titans may come to an end.
''David is still in the middle of the rehab process,'' Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''This is an especially difficult injury to overcome. Recently, he had several more scopes. It just remains to be seen. I’m hoping for David he can at some point heal up and get back and get another chance either with us right now or somebody else.''
