| Pacman must wait until at least July NFL commissioner Roger Goodell warned three weeks ago that he could give suspended cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones more time to understand what was expected of him. Now the league says Jones is prohibited from working out at the Tennessee Titansfacility and may not be reinstated until at least the opening of training camps in July. | Re: Pacman must wait until at least July Seems like Goodell gets some kind of sick satisfaction from keeping pac from rejoining the team. Pac has all his legal trouble behind him(for now) and has sat out a season. Jones has done his time and even though he may not be the poster boy for what an nfl player should be, he is an nfl calibur player and needs to be playing/training with another nfl team, if not the titans |

| Re: Pacman must wait until at least July i obviously cant answer that question honestly because i don't follow another team but i see where your going...if i were to answer i would say yes my opinion would be the same because i cant understand what more this guy has to do to be allowed to play again? especially when you consider what some other players have done in the past |

| Re: Pacman must wait until at least July Well, I'm not a Titans fan, but I agree with Alex here. Pacman's tried his darnest to keep his nose clean. They wouldn't let him wrestle, which probably would've kept him out of trouble. I haven't heard anything negative regarding him for a while now. So, yeah, what else do they want the guy to do to prove he deserves another shot?

| Re: Pacman must wait until at least July Not everyone has the same upbringing, Hawker. I may be easy for someone born in the suburbs or an affluent neighborhood, with a certain kind of upbringing, to avoid trouble. It may be quite a different story for others. I don't pretend to know a whole heck of a lot about Pacman's youth. But obviously this is something he's struggled with. Should he be punished just because he's learned some bad habits and has to work hard to break them? I don't think so. |

Pacman's father was shot and killed when he was 4. He was raised by his mom and grandmother. Grandmother died of cancer when he was a freshman in college. The young man's heart was in the right place in his early years. After he was drafted, he donated money to a charity that supports families of firefighters, policemen, and emergency workers. He later donated money to the Nashville firemen and policemen for new uniforms. He traveled to a high school in Nashville to help out when one of its football players died in an auto crash and other players were injured. He continued to encourage them thru the year. He did appear for TNA in a non-physical role. When his contract expired, TNA chose not to renew it. He also collaborated on a hip hop album. His legal troubles were many. In 2005, he was involved in incidents in July and September. In October, it was alleged that he did not have sufficient contact with his probation officer. There were incidents in August and October of 2006. Another incident in 2007 involved members of his entourage, but police found that he was not there and was not charged. In May of 2007, he was charged with speeding, 79 in a 55 MPH zone. His last incident was January 3 of 2008. The woman was seeking an arrest warrant but later withdrew it. The young man has a drug problem. At one point he told a friend, if I didnt smoke, I couldnt take the stress. It seems that his favorite targets for violence are women. He has been known to spit in their faces. I am not claiming that they didnt deserve it. He pretended not to know that one of his friends was a drug dealer. This is an extremely talented, troubled young man. Maybe, just maybe, Goodell sees that and wants to do all he can to get Pacman headed in the right direction. Pacman doesnt need to just stay out of trouble. He needs to actively seek help for his problem. Pacman Jones - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
