Is Eddie done?

To me Eddie George is not done. He may be getting a little old but he still is the Eddie of old. He showed on Sunday that he can still run up the field, break a few tackles, and score. Eddie just needs to be more aggressive and stop prancing around the field like a little ballerina. He has the power to run over people and needs to use it. The Titans are very capeable of winning the super bowl but they won't do it unless Eddie shows up to play on sunday's.

Fullback?

Do you think it would help Eddie if he were given a natural fullback to lead block for him, rather than an H-back?

Hell yeah!!!

I totally agree on the point that eddie needs a fullback in front of him but he needs to just run because he is probablly not gonna get that. It would help but he just needs to run over some people and not worry about it.

Eddie Isn't Done

I don't believe that Eddie is done, but I agree that the Titans will definitely need him to play his best game every time if they have a chance to make it to the super bowl. I think the Titans will be able to find ways to get the ball into the playmakers hands and win big football games. We will just have to wait and see if it is Eddie that delivers the big plays that everybody is waiting for.

He's definately not finished. He's just coming off a 1,000 yard season; and a 100 yard game. Numbers like that indicate that he's definately still alive. I think he may have a legitimate shot at the rushing title, considering he's already well over 10,000 yards. Sure, he's not Mr. Lightning anymore, but I think he plays his game very well, and his game is smashmouth running.

I feel that he could benefit from having a natural fullback. When Lorenzo Neal was in the backfield, George's numbers were huge.

Well just wondered what everyone thought now that eddie only had 21 yards on 11 attempts this sunday. He really didn't impress me at all this sunday and i really think he needs a fullback.

I've just never ben sold on him. Yeah he can grind out some short yard gain but how often do you see him break a big run? Umm, like... NEVER!

Would a fulback help Eddie George? Sure, but I think a better running back would help our Tennessee Titans more.

peace

i don't really agree that a better running back will help the tennessee titans. I believe that a fullback would help tremendously. Eddie is not the type of back that breaks off huge 60 yard touchdowns. he is a back that works for yards. The titans big plays come from the recieving core and that is how its always been. Eddie just needs to get like five to 10 when he runs and the steve and the recievers will take care of the rest. Well that is enough from me. Tell me what you guys think.

I agree with golferttu that the Titans have never looked to their running game to pull off big game plays. That's what McNair and his receivers are for. Eddie is a banger. He's the kind of back that will run over someone before he runs around them. I'm not saying that this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it's Eddie's thing. So what if you don't see Eddie breaking loose on many big yardage runs, but in turn you also don't see many of the little quick guys gaining yards consistently up the middle. If Eddie stays consistent in his pickups, and getting those 3-4 first downs on third down, I believe he deserves his spot.

Not just eddie but the whole running game of the tennessee titans just hasn't shown me nothing the last few games. Yeah we have a tremendous receiving core but there is no way that we can win without a running game. I don't think there is any team that can. Until we find our running game then no super bowl and possibly no playoffs for the tennessee titans.

You have to be able to run the football or it's only a matter of time before your passing game goes kaput.

I agree that if they don't get a running game soon that the passing game is gonna go bad too. Then the whole team is gonna play bad and it will be a losing season.

The George topic could be debated either way. I don't think Gerge is done... that being said, it's not the issue. The issue is George is not productive, whether he's in his prime or passed his prime... he's not productive. I would love for him to regain his form and continue to be our starting running back for a'long time from now, but it's frustrating to watch him keep tripping in the open field, dancing between the tackles, and not exploding through the hole, but rather flinching as the LB'er fills the gap.
