Pacman Haynesworth altercation

According to Pa. Sportsticker reports, "Tennessee Titans officials are investigating an apparent altercation between suspended cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, the Tennessean reported on its web site Tuesday... The incident, which apparently occurred over the weekend in Nashville, was confirmed by Titans coach Jeff Fisher on Monday night."

This is interesting. Besides in the report, Nashville police say they have no record of such an occurrence.
Both are troublemakers although Pacman is worse. I have never cared for Haynesworth after he stomped on Gurodes head last year with his football cleats.

Both are bad news...and both are even more stupid for fighting each other after the reputations they already have in the league.

Re: Pacman Haynesworth altercation

l love hearing everyone's reaction on this, Big Al had one major slip last season when he stamped on that guys head and now he is a trouble maker. i wont get into all the details and my opinion on Pacman but i just love to hear how these guys are in an altercation and all of a sudden everyone throws in the "oh well they are thugs" card.

i bet if they both rescued puppies and small children from a burning church people would say "well they are thugs and they just did it to get in our good books"

Re: Pacman Haynesworth altercation

Haynesworth played college football in the University of Tennessee. He has a history of issues with his temper. While a sophomore at Tennessee, he fought with a teammate and left practice, returning with a long pole looking for tackle Will Ofenheusle before coach Phillip Fulmer stopped him. He was suspended for a half of a game. Another incident occurred at a Titans training camp, where he kicked his teammate, center Justin Hartwig, in the chest, and had to be restrained by other teammates.[1]
Arrest warrants were issued against Haynesworth in two Tennessee counties in May of 2006 stemming from a traffic incident on Interstate 40. Both sets of charges were dropped in June of 2006. The Judge in the Putnam county case tossed the charges on the grounds that the alleged offense happened out of their jurisdiction. In Smith county, the district attorney dismissed the charges.

On September 9th, 2007, in the Week 1 game against Jacksonville, Haynesworth was called for unnecessary roughness when he slammed running back Maurice Jones-Drew to the ground after a tackle[10]. He was fined $5,000 by the NFL for this incident. Afterwards, when asked if he would be gentler during play, he commented, "I'm not going to be any gentler or whatever. Maybe I'll just help them up."

no no i dont agree with any of this classifying him as a thug. i agree he is a passionate player and has got into altercations before but i dont think that makes him a thug and i dont think that you can bracket him in the same category as Pacman. in the incidents on the practice fields it shows idoicy and immaturity but it also shows that he has grown out of it and learnt his lesson as those were one off incidents.
in terms of his recent fine i think its total c**p becuase i saw the tackle and ive seen worse tackles on players than that one, all that happened was that he had grabbed him and threw him to the ground like many defensive players do..and yet in a physical game like football he is getting fined for being 'to rough'?

I guess maybe we just dont have the same idea of a thug. Maybe thug is the wrong word. Maybe just that he isnt particularly of very high moral character. The whole thing put together including the tackle just kind of make up a package that isnt particularly pretty. Yeah, I agree about the tackle. He is passionate on the field but sometimes certain types of people use the circumstances that excuse the behavior. Bill Romanowski comes to mind. He even admits it now. Or maybe lawmen or prison guard who enjoy the brutality in their job and add a little extra to it. Not sure if I am expressing it right alex. Ten years from now you might see it a little differently too. It would be interesting to know what the fight was about. Dont be too sure about the outcome. Pacman is a street fighter.
Geez, I sound like LSC. Off the soapbox.
