Titans DT Simon to retire today, Grady next?

After eight NFL seasons, Titans defensive tackle Corey Simon is ready to call it a career. Simon informed the Titans on Wednesday he plans to retire from the NFL, according to sources familiar with the situation. He is expected to make an official announcement today. The Titans signed the former Pro Bowl selection on Aug. 28, but he has played in only four games, was used sparingly and credited with one tackle. Simon was not on the practice field Wednesday because of what was called a "team decision" on the injury report. Coach Jeff Fisher and Simon could not be reached for comment on Wednesday night. The agent for defensive tackle Grady Jackson, released by the Falcons this week, said the Titans are among the teams who have expressed interest in the 11th-year veteran. Tennessee's level of interest is unclear, however. -- Tennessean

Re: Titans DT Simon to retire today, Grady next?

its always tough to see a guy retire after such a short period of time, especially as he seemed as though he really had something to prove when the Colts cut him. but from the sounds of it the issues as to why he is retiring seem like they are out of his own control...as for Grady, he would seem like a good pick up but at the moment i think we have some damn good DT's anyway so whoever else we bring in will simply be a bonus

Grady Jackson would be a great pick up to make our D even stronger. He is a beast of a man and Atlanta messed up letting him go like they did.
