Even though
Reggie Bush scored two touchdowns Monday night, I guess he's partly responsible for the Saints losing to the Titans. You see, Tennessee quarterback
Vince Young has been harboring some resentment about not winning the Heisman -- Bush took the trophy -- and has
used it as motivation in his NFL career.
"... I wanted to show the world that I was the real Heisman Trophy winner. But on paper, Reggie Bush is the Heisman Trophy winner. [I am] not taking nothing from him, he knows he's a phenomenal athlete," Young said in the interview.
When asked if he is a better player than Bush, Young added: "I always feel like I'm better. Always." It started with the BCS Championship game -- Young rushed for 200 yards and threw for 267 as Texas beat USC -- and has since continued in the NFL: in 2006, Young won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and this season Titans are 2-1, thanks largely to his performance.Meanwhile, Bush struggled for much of his rookie campaign -- particularly as a runner -- and though I think it's a tad premature for such things,
he's already drawn Tony Mandarich comparisons. Hey, at least it wasn't Brian Bosworth.
