Despite almost coming back against the Colts last week, a late second-quarter unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on quarterback Vince Young could've ended up costing the Titans points. From the Tennessee 37 with less than two minutes to go in the first half, Young scrambled for seven yards before being pushed out of bounds by Indy's Kelvin Hayden. And then things got weird. After the push, Young, who thought Hayden was late, threw the ball at Colts' cornerback. A 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty later, the Titans were backed up to their 29-yard line, eventually had to punt, and then watched the Colts march 79 yards before converting a field goal to stretch the lead to 10 points.

Young was insouciantly philosophical about the whole thing:

"Things happen. They're always going to flag the second guy. They caught me in the act and that's why they flagged me. That's the ref's game, they're going to do what they have do to call a good game.''

Colts' safety Bob Sanders had a different take:

"That's how people get hurt ... We're after you. You know what I'm saying? I told him, 'If I was you, I'd be quiet.' ... "I didn't think that was smart on his part ... He was running around talking and clapping and chanting. I'm like, 'Look, we're hitting you. Are you serious? You're going to start acting like that?'"

sorry but not trying to sound like we are being victimised here...but i think we are being victimised here...i mean Haynesworth gets fined for "a hard tackle" im sorry isnt he a defender and SUPPOSED to tackle people? now your saying you can tackle, just not that hard

and now Vince Young is getting fined $7.5K for unsportsmanlike conduct, ok so is this how its gonna be, anytime a player commits a penalty like that we give them a hefty fine? this is just getting ridiculous. and not forgetting that Vince only retaliated becuase the guy shoved his hand in his face as he was stepping out of bounds

Regardless, alex, he is the quarterback and needs to set a higher standard. He seems to have a bit of a temper. He needs to learn to control that.

yes i understand that and i think he was stupid to give away that penalty and i rememeber sepcifically that when he did that i went "oh damn!" becuase i realised what he did, what i dont accept is slapping him with a $7,500 fine for doing that when you have players doing much worse in a game...i mean when did you last year about a lineman or linebacker getting fined when he went in head first on a QB? thats illegal and unsportsmanlike

Thats what I like about VY, hes got fire, I'll take those penalties every once and a while cause in the end he gets it done..
