| Fisher Finally Gets An Extension ![]() Months after it was reported that the Titans would extend the contract of coach Jeff Fisher, Fisher reportedly has a new deal. Per the Nasvhille Tennessean, an agreement has been reached on a four-year extension, which will keep Fisher with the Titans through 2011. Fisher currently holds the longest tenure with the same team, inheriting that title after Bill Cowher resigned from the Steelers in January. Fisher has been the franchise's head coach since November 1994, when it was the Houston Oilers. The deal is expected to pay Fisher between $5.5 million and $6 million per year. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm |

| Re: Fisher Finally Gets An Extension I agree - Fisher is an underrated coach. Glad to see that Vince Young saved his job. Remember the old "Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?" thread? Hard to believe that was less than a year ago. Thankfully, the Titans brass didn't listed to the contingent of fans who were calling for Fisher's head, eh?

| Re: Fisher Finally Gets An Extension those supposed titans fans who were looking for coach fisher to be fired are not real titans fans in my opinion, you support your team and the personale through thick and thin and no matter what...not be a glory supporter who only backs the team when they are winning becuase it was not suprising that when we began to win games everyone shut up about having him fired...long live coach fisher!! one thing i do find interesting about the whole situation is...would coach fisher have had his contract renewed or even been the titans coach had it not been for a little guy named Vincent Young?? |
