Dual Running Back Committee

The Titans will wait a little longer to decide on their starting running back.
LenDale White and Chris Brown will both be heavily involved in the game plan when the regular season begins on Sept. 9, Coach Jeff Fisher said Saturday.
"We're getting excellent production from Chris and LenDale, and one would think we've got a situation where we are going to use them both every week," Fisher said. "I'm pleased with that. We have a good problem, and either way we decide we are going to be good.''
Through three preseason games the Titans have started three running backs.
White got his chance on Friday at Buffalo and rushed for 51 yards on 11 carries. He also caught three passes for 23 yards. Brown, who started the opener against Washington, ran well again Friday and leads the Titans with 128 yards and a 5.1-yard average.
Rookie Chris Henry, who started at New England, won't figure into the plan early unless White or Brown is injured. Fisher said he'd eventually like White or Brown to get most of the carries.
"I thought we ran the ball exceptionally hard, and hit on all cylinders,'' said White, who missed a game with an injury. "The offensive line is making it easy on us. All I had to do is run, really.''

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

No surprise. You've got two decent change of pace backs who, combined, should net you at least 100 yards. Makes sense to use 'em this way.

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

I like the two running back system. If they have them, they should definitely use them.

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

well thats suprising, i mean i would have expected to see Chris Henry having a bit of playing time but i guess this isnt to bad, i really hope that LenDale starts playing how he keeps saying he can play becuase he was pretty annoyed to slip into the second round and spoke very highly of himself and his potential but he hasnt really shown that thus far so im hoping it will all come out this season...although having 2 power runners is a bit of a scare for me if they plan on Vince being the speed runner becuase as much as i love to see Vince run, when he takes hits sometimes my heart skips a beat wondering if he will get up from it or not

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

I am glad that Fisher has the utmost confidence in LenDale, but guys...Chris Brown is the type of player TN is looking for...given the chance to shine. All he needs is Fish's confidence and I guarantee, Chris Brown will explode on the scene!!!

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

hey there BW, welcome to the forum ...... i really liked LenDale while he was at USC, of course there he could lean on Reggie Bush ...... does he have what it takes to be a #1 back in the NFL ?

seems the 2 back system has worked very well for many teams ..... and bigger guys (Craig Heywood) may not be as affective as they have been in the past ...... seems now quickness is where it's at

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

LenDale hasn't shown me, hasn't shown anyone, he can amount to a hill of beans yet in the NFL. He's got to make good on his promise this year, I think, to avoid being pigeonholed into a career backup role. How is Chris Henry going to fit into all this?

Re: Dual Running Back Committee

yeah i agree, he was all talk coming out of the draft that he should have gone higher, yet he is not proving it both with his on the field performances and also his attitude to the game...in terms of Chris Henry there was a lot of buzz around him during traning camp and he was said to be a suprise pick up but for now it doesnt seem as though he will get much production unless one of the guys get an injury
