Who will be the Titans starting running back in 2007? Will it be Chris Brown or LenDale White?

On the one hand, we have this article, in which running backs coach Sherman Smith says, "We’ve had two preseason games, and LenDale hasn’t played in one of them. That kind of puts him in a position where you can’t say you’re competing for a starting job if you’re not practicing and not playing... I think it’s Chris Brown. This guy is showing that he’s been consistent. The rookie [Chris Henry] is still learning, and the other two guys, Quinton [Ganther] and Dontrell [Moore], are doing a good job when they get opportunities to play."

So Brown's the starter, right? Not so fast, my friend.

According to this article, White is scheduled to make his first NFL start on Friday against the Buffalo Bills. So it looks like he can still claim the starting role with a strong performance. Can he do it?

About time. The Titan's LenDale is a poor imitation of the LenDale I saw at USC. It's about time he steps up and show why he belongs in the NFL...college greatness can only carry you so far.

That's the thing - he has a chance to start, but can he make the most of it. I have my doubts, given how unimpressive he's been in the NFL.

His work ethics sucks...and you can't run if you are constantly out of shape...huge disappointment.

LenDale White or anyone besides Chris Brown. Brown could get injured playing X Box football and he can't break tackles for nothing.

i could see white and brown missing at least a few games each due to injury this year. Brown loves some turf toe and white seems more and more like he is too soft to get it done. I could see chris henry taking over the bulk by week 6.

Interesting, the debate seems to be divided. Is this pretty much just a case of the guy who stinks least, starts?

yeah but also look at the amount of carries between brown and white..

c. brown had 6 carries for 42 yds
l. white had 11 carries for 51 yds

Looking at those numbers, I think Brown would have to be the guy. Though it'd be tempting to split carries fairly evenly.

The Associated Press has this take on it: "If the decision is based on production, then White takes the lead after his first NFL start... He ran 11 times for 51 yards in Friday night's 28-17 exhibition victory at Buffalo -- an average of 4.6 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 23 yards and showed how well he can block for Vince Young." Do you agree?
