Not according to coach Jeff Fisher. He credits lots of rain and a blitz-heavy defensive plan by the New England Patriots for how Young and the first-team offense struggled in a 27-24 victory Friday night."I think it was the weather, the surface, people in his face. The approach the Patriots took defensively, which was a unique approach," Fisher said Saturday."They brought people almost every down from different places. They dropped different people out in coverage. We went in this game with a very basic game plan and did not put ourselves in position to try to take advantage of those things."Fisher defended his quarterback and said he has played well in training camp. The coach pointed out his defense hit Tom Brady repeatedly, forced two interceptions and registered two of three sacks using only a basic four-man rush.

Sorry, Lefty. I disagree. So if he had taken snaps for maybe a quarter or possibly even two last week, none of this would have happened? We are talking Patriots defense here. He needed to get benched to get his head on straight. He'll catch up.

I don't think he would've been perfect, but with more snaps and some in game action, it wouldn't have been as bad. That's my take on it, at least.

his first game of the season, only his second season in the NFL, the first pro game he was playing in those kinds of conditions, playing with a relatively new offense (with the expception of the O line) and playing against the pats defense in New England...i think anyone will struggle to be honest

and lefty you are TOTALLY wrong...coach fisher doesnt mess up, he just sometimes makes incorrect decisions coach fisher is always right

hold on hold on ......... funny how his QB struggles and the weather is to blame ........ but if Brady has a little bump in the road it's his defense that made it happen, did the weather not become an issue when Brady was out there ? ........ what a damn apologist

the Titans on the other hand, the weather and a tricky Pats defense are lame excuses ........... the offensive line looked like crap ..... and VY didnt look much better ........ does the weather explain the 10 first half penalties ....... and one of those int's was only because the Pats WR fell down

let's keep it real fellas ........ the Titans are not in the class of the Pats just yet

Much as it pains me to agree with simon on this one, that's exactly what Fisher did. He blamed the weather and the Pat's defense for Vince's struggles. Then he pointed out that his defense put pressure on Brady. Sounds like he is just going around in circles to make the issue cloudy. He shouldnt have made any excuses. His young quarterback struggled. Period.

Guess he was at the koolaid. and so are you vince if you think the titans are going to beat the Pats in the regular season.
