| Titans And Patriots Tonight ![]() Titans quarterback Vince Young is scheduled to make his first preseason start tonight against the New England Patriots. Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said the team had gameplanned some for the Patriots defense, hoping to establish the run game better than they did a week ago at home. Running back LenDale White and cornerback Reynaldo Hill are question marks for the Titans roster, however receiver Roydell Williams and guard Benji Olson both practiced all week and are expected to play. Tight end Ben Troupe will not play for the second-consecutive week. HISTORY While the Titans carry an all-time preseason record of 5-0 against the Patriots into this week’s game, this is the first preseason matchup between the two teams since a 1988 matchup in Memphis. In regular season play, they have faced each other far more regularly and recently. In the 2006 finale, the Patriots delivered a 40-23 defeat of the Titans, ending Tennessee’s Wild Card playoff hopes. The Patriots lead the combined regular season and postseason series with a record of 21-16-1. Tennessee Titans Gameday |
