i don't know about you but when i watch kerry collins lead this team on the field, i brace myself for the worst. Is he really as bad as he looks, or are we as fans just used to scrambling QBs? this is something to think about, especially if you believe in the Madden curse. Vince is our savior, but he might not always be there.

Welcome to gtg jtbandy, to anwser your question, yes, kerry is that bad, I dont know why we re-signed him. I wish we still had volek for backup. If vince ever goes down were screwed..

welcome to the website jtbandy, yeah im not now nor have i ever been a fan of Kerry Collins. to me he opitimises the ageing QB that never really hit the big time, or did for a short period of time, and is hanging around the league hoping to be part of a super bowl team or become a starter on a desperate team until the day their 7th hip breaks and they decide to call it quits.

to be honest i dont really care who we have at backup QB as long as they are young, i would love to have a player like Seneca Wallace or Charlie Batch who arent good enough to be starters but good enough to be the best backups around. but ditto to what vince said, if we loose Vince Young (GOD FORBID!) we are going to be pretty screwed in terms of our offense

Batch?... I rather take my chances with Collins than batch...didn't they sign Rattay?...I like Rattay...good little man...

Well, now I know you are kidding. Collins??? Batch looked good when I saw him play. Rattay would be a good back-up. I dont know. I think Seneca Wallace could start. He's pretty athletic.

In terms of the four guys being discussed, I'd go Rattay, Wallace, Batch and Collins a distant fourth.

That said, with a little more experience, Wallace will probably wind up taking over from Rattay as #1 on that list. Very impressive kid.
