Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

Pac Man made his wrestling debut via vignettes (pre-taped promos) last night. I think his first live appearance will be on TNA's August PPV.

ESPN covered the Pac Man.

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

Well, this just got a lot more interesting.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting the Titans have placed a restraining order (or received one, I don't know the correct wording) out on Pacman Jones that will prevent him from appearing at TNA's event on Sunday (Hard Justice show on PPV).

UPDATE

ESPN.com
has a story. Apparently, it won't prevent Pacman from appearing on the show, but would prevent him from wrestling or getting involved and whatnot.

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

It seems to have been settled. The latest word after TNA sat down with Titans officials (and a Tennessee judge) is that Pac Man can appear at tonight's TNA PPV event...he just can't get involved in any physicality.

So...there ya go. The show will go on and the Titans will continue to try and have a season with out Pac Man...lol

If nothing else, it should be interesting to find out whether TNA/Pac Man try and get around the agreement in any way.

So are the Titans involved in this mess because they want Pac Man to return to them next season?...Totally sad if they do.

Actually, I agree with that. He's got too much baggage, and this would've given them the perfect out to cut him without needing to reach some type of financial settlement. Of course, there's no guarantee Jones is going to honor this... but I'm betting he just hands a steel chair to someone or something.

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

Perhaps Pac Man wants to get cut so he can sign with a different team and start afresh.

This may be something like who will blink first...too bad Pac Man would definitely get a 2nd (and possibly 3rd) chance in the NFL.

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

Pac Man can't wrestle....but if somehow he were to stub his toe or slip or something while participating in a TNA event, his contract could be voided. I think.

I imagine he'll be in breach of contract, can be cut outright, and probably owes the team bonus money.

well bette from what i understand due to his contract with the national football league (its with the titans but they call it with the national football league) Pacman is not allowed to compete in the fights, he can take part in all the acting stuff like shouting abuse and cutting to scenes of him on the floor in pools of blood, similar to the one they did the other night, but he would be in major breach of his contract if he was involved in any of the fighting

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

Yeah, I get all of that now guys. My question was what would have happened if they hadnt placed him under a restraining order. My thought was they would be the ones more or less footing the bills and taking the loss if he couldnt play anywhere anymore. So maybe thats why they placed the restraining order on him.

Re: Pac Man Jones Goes into Pro Wrestling

I don't know what the difference between this and when Brian Urlacher got involved in TNA a few years back. He actually got physicall involved in the ring. The Bears weren't happy at all and Urlacher stopped appearing.

well the rules of Pacmans suspension state that he can only get on to the Titans facility once a week, so if he were to get an injury during one of his TNA apperances i suppose he could get the titans trainers to have a look at it on the one day he is allowed in the facility but after that its his problem for another week so either he will have to get private treatment or get the TNA to deal with it
