| Agent: Pacman Hoping To Be In Training Camp Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones is hoping his suspension doesn't keep him out of training camp or preseason games, his agent said Tuesday. Agent Michael Huyghue said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell never ruled out on training camp or preseason games when he suspended the cornerback for the 2007 season in April for his off-field conduct. Jones can have his case reviewed after the Titans' 10th game of the season. "Now we're optimistic that Pac will get to participate in training camp and play in preseason games," Huyghue said. "We don't want to get ahead of ourselves. That's a determination the commissioner is going to make." A message to the NFL was not immediately returned Tuesday. The Titans did not respond to messages seeking comment. They have declined to comment on Jones since June 20, when Las Vegas authorities announced they were charging the cornerback with two felony counts of coercion. But Jones dropped his appeal of the suspension June 12. Huyghue said the commissioner has allowed Jones to visit the Titans more than the once weekly visit in the original suspension.News of Jones possibly taking part in training camp first was reported by ESPN.com. | Re: Agent: Pacman Hoping To Be In Training Camp wo wo wo, its Pacman that is hoping to join Training Camp, the titans have said nothing about the situation yet nor have they said they will allow him to break procedure and join them before the time he is supposed to. so if Pacman manages to wrigle his way through the net and join training camp it may not even be down to the Titans, it might by pass them and be dealt with through his lawyers and they may have no other choice

| Re: Agent: Pacman Hoping To Be In Training Camp yeah without a doubt, i mean people can argue that Pac is an APPARENT persistant offender but Vicks problems are so big and so major that the Federal Grand Jury is getting involved in it...Pacman is yet to be convicted for a crime he has commited so you can paint one guy as the worst thing in the league and let another one go if his problems are much greater |

| Re: Agent: Pacman Hoping To Be In Training Camp If Pacman Jones does take part in training camp, which opens July 27, it remains what, if any, role he would have on the practice field. The Titans are most likely going to want to emphasize readying the players who will be available to them this season during training camp and preseason. Besides the obvious sideshow of Jones' return, the Titans and perhaps even the NFL Players Association might balk at his participation based on liability issues. Jones is not being paid for the 2007 season while on suspension, but if he were to suffer a career-ending injury in camp, a question of whether he is owed money would come into play. -- Nashville City Paper Article Window |
