| Fishers Charity Softball Game Ends In Tie Just like when the 2002 Major League All-Star ended in a controversial tie after 11 innings, there were fireworks Saturday night after the Comcast Jeff Fisher and Friends charity softball game was declared a draw at Greer Stadium. But these were real bursting-in-air fireworks. With the event tied at 8-8 after 11, Fisher grabbed a microphone and asked fans if they'd rather see the split-squad Titans play another inning or fireworks. The largest crowd in the event's history cheered about evenly, so Fisher called the game. "It was only fitting to me," said Fisher, now 6-0-1 in his annual charity game. "It was a great outcome for the fans and the players." The game was scheduled for 10 innings, but with Fisher's blue-clad Comcastic All-Stars trailing the white-clad Triple Play Tigers 8-7 after 10, the coach decided another inning was warranted. The All-Stars tied it on punter Craig Hentrich's two-out RBI single, scoring tight end Bo Scaife, then center Kevin Mawae grounded to second to end the inning and the game. TV show:It was announced that Fisher's weekly TV show on Channel 2 will move to Tuesdays this fall and be aired from Opry Mills mall. ![]() ![]() Fisher's charity softball game ends in tie - Nashville, Tennessee - Sunday, 06/24/07 - Tennessean.com |
