| Pacman Posts Bond Suspended Titans cornerback Pacman Jones surrendered to authorities in Nevada this morning and was released after posting $20,000 bond, the Associated Press reports. Jones was booked into the Clark County Detention Center early Friday and released about an hour later, a jail operator said. The Tennessean reported that Jones posted $10,000 bond for each charge of felony coercion. The Clark County district attorney said yesterday that Jones would be be fingerprinted, photographed, and brought before a magistrate. Per the AP report, Las Vegas police Capt. James Dillon said authorities gave Jones, Sadia Morrison and Robert Reid until midday Friday to turn themselves in or face arrest in connection with the fight at the Minxx strip club in February. Police say Morrison was a member of Jones's entourage that night, and Reid is Jones' bodyguard. No one has been charged for the shooting outside the club that left a club employee paralyzed. | Re: Pacman Posts Bond MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman'' Jones appeared in court Thursday for a hearing to decide if he violated the terms of a plea deal and should have public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges revived. The charges come from an incident last August at a nightclub in the Nashville suburb of Murfreesboro. Police said Jones got into an argument with a woman, refused to leave the club and shouted profanities at officers. Rutherford County General Sessions Court Judge David Loughry had agreed in January to dismiss the charges and expunge Jones' record if he behaved himself for six months. But District Attorney General William Whitesell filed a petition June 22 asking Loughry to reinstate the misdemeanor counts after Jones was named in felony coercion charges in connection with a Feb. 19 fight and triple-shooting at a Las Vegas strip club. Soon after Thursday's hearing began, the judge ordered a recess so defense and prosecution attorneys could meet privately to try to reach a resolution. Discussions were still under way at midmorning. Besides the Vegas charges, Jones faces a felony charge of obstruction stemming from physical argument in February 2006 with a patrolling police officer in Fayetteville, Ga., but no trial date has been set, defense attorney Manny Arora said Thursday. Arora said Jones also has been cooperating with Atlanta police in connection with a strip club shooting last month. No charges have been filed against Jones in that incident. Las Vegas police say Jones didn't fire the shots which left one man paralyzed but incited a melee which preceded the shooting. The arrest in Las Vegas was the sixth for the 23-year-old since he was drafted in 2005. He has not been convicted of any crimes, but authorities say he has been involved in at least 11 police investigations around the country. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones for a year in April, citing the off-field episodes. The suspension could be reduced to 10 games if Jones meets restrictions set by Goodell. Jones and his attorneys initially appealed the suspension, but dropped the appeal last month. ESPN - Tennessee court considering if Jones violated plea - NFL |
