| Tennessee Titans - John Clayton Can Vince Young get better at quarterback if the Titans' skill positions around him look weaker? The Titans head into their minicamps with a lot of changes on offense. Wide receivers Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade and halfback Travis Henry are all gone. Chris Brown remains unsigned and it is not known if he will be back. LenDale White is the starting halfback at the moment, but he has reportedly ballooned to 260 pounds this offseason. The Titans did draft speedy running back Chris Henry in the second round, but the backfield clearly isn't as deep as it was a year ago. The receiving corps also seems a little thin. Young won Rookie of the Year honors by running around and moving the chains with timely throws. If new weapons don't emerge, it could be hard for him to repeat his success in 2007. | Re: Tennessee Titans - John Clayton The Titans fans can probably answer this one better than I can, but I personally believe Young is going to struggle with the clear downgrade of the skill position players around him. The lack of an established running game alone is going to allow defenses to better scheme against the passing attack. It's becoming clear that LenDale White isn't the answer, not after balooning up in weight for the second straight offseason. He lacks discipline.

| Re: Tennessee Titans - John Clayton in terms of recievers i dont think Vince will struggle only becuase last season he didnt hone in on one reciever, i most games he was throwing passes to atleast 7 or more options all of whom were getting atleast a reception or 2. we have some very good recieving TE's and also Gage, Jones (Brandon) and Williams out at reciever. in terms of RB's we have 2 pretty unexpreinced guys that i wouldnt expect to get masses of yards in every game, they wont come close to Travis Henry's 100+ games last season however both were well known for being good recieving options coming out of the backfield so i would expect to see them used much more there. to be honest im not to worried about Vince having limited talent to throw too becuase he is so capable of doing things on his own. i think it will be a case of 'let vince do it how he wants' expect to see the same as last season with almost every recieving option being used in the game at some point, varieties of option plays, the 2 RB's playing in a tandem RB situation as well as getting a lot of passes out of the backfield and the TE's to lead the team in receptions

| Re: Tennessee Titans - John Clayton vince will do fine next year i beleive brandon jones will be th no.1 WR next year and givens no.2. im not surprised at there draft pick a matter of fact i was saying before the draft that we would be better off picking a db instaed of a wr.and we dont know about our rb's both were drafted in the second round in the draft and hopefully they will prove why.and dont forget about paul williams he might become a good wr.and lets face it drew bennett wasnt getting any better. |
