| Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Since January 2000, Adam "Pacman" Jones' attorneys count at least 283 NFL players who have been arrested or charged for offenses ranging from drunken driving to domestic violence to weapons possession. None was suspended a full season for personal conduct, a punishment Jones' attorneys say was "unprecedented in its severity." That's part of the Titans' cornerback's plea for leniency in a 24-page letter sent to the NFL and posted Monday on The Tennessean newspaper's Web site. FOX Sports - NFL - Attorneys cite other NFL arrests in appeal

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players yeah but the thing is Pacman has been a pro for 2 years, there are some players who have spent their entire career getting in trouble for drugs, guns, murders etc...i think he is turning his life around but i dont agree that he should be punished because Godell wants to show everyone hes the man

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players From what I heard on NFL Live yesterday, the interesting thing that could come out of this is a lawsuit against the NFL. I doubt it would fly, considering the new conduct policy can't be applied retroactively to all these cases... unless Pacman and his lawyers successfully argue that it should be applied retroactively to none of them, and should just be a conduct policy moving forward. Might be interesting to see what comes of all this.

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players i think the case Pacman has against the NFL is that the law wasnt implements before he caused all these problems, yes there were rules and regulations against doing things like this etc etc but there wasnt the new coduct rule that they have now that they have charged him with when everything went down, so is it not unfair that they have created a new rule and just used a bad player to test it out, i mean its like getting pulled over for something you did last week and the cops saying "well we are now going to arrest you for what you did last week, we didnt have that law last week but we have it now so we are going to charge you for it" it just seems unfair that becuase the league were to busy doing...well i dont know what...the first 9 times Pacman did something, they decided in the midst of the draft and Godell coming into the league that they were FINALLY going to punish him for his 10th offense |

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players ok i can agree to a degree that he has a case to say you never did this before you cant just make an example of me without putting wording on the books for this sort of thing if i get pulled over for speeding 10mph over the limit and i go to court, the judge cant give me a year in jail just to make an example of me |

Why not?...You always want to be able to play on an even playing field...taking nothing away from the punishment on Pac Man...but hey, now they chose to make an example of someone?...now? |

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players yes exactly, i mean do you think they are going to make an example of Ahmad Carroll who not only had drugs in his possession but also guns? not saying Pacman is totally innocent but in the 2 major cases against him, one being the bodyguard killing them police "have not got any evidence AT THE MOMENT to charge Pacman or even connect him to what went on" so no CCTV footage or hair sample or nothing? then there is the incident with spitting in some girls face, he was equitted of that, and i can think of at least 2 or 3 more cases out of the 10 where he has been set free, so NOW the league decide they wanna crack down on players, implement a new rule and give Pacman the 'privelage' of being the first person to test it out? no no thats just not right at all... interesting to see what happens to Micheal 'Dog killer' Vick and Ahmad 'pill popping, gun totating' Caroll, i mean if the league dont do anything bad for them doesnt that make Pacman's case stronger? |

| But Pacman's Attorney forgot one little convenient fact. How many of these other players' actions, cause a man to lay paralyzed? Of course, it's only alleged, but that, with the other nine, inicidences, seperates this idiot for the others. |

| Re: Pacman's Attorneys Finger Other Players No matter how heinous the acts may or may not be, you're still trying to punish them retroactively. At the time, there was no conduct policy in the NFL for Pacman to violate. The NFL will have a tough time defending that policy, especially if it makes it to a court of law. |
