Post Price tag for San Diego RB may be too steep for Titans

The Tennessee Titans remain interested in San Diego running back Michael Turner and have talked enough with his agent that working out a new contract could be done quickly. The biggest problem? San Diego's high trade demands for LaDainian Tomlinson's backup. Chargers general manager A.J. Smith wants first- and third-round draft picks for Turner, a price he hasn't eased as Saturday's NFL draft nears.

ok this is a little harsh dont you think, i mean the Chargers want a first AND third round pick for a player that has been a backup his entire career, of course he is one of the most sought after free agents at the moment but arent they pushing it a little by asking for something so ridiculous? and where do you think the titans will go from this? i mean an RB isnt a position we are desperate to fill right now so do we risk loosing 2 potential vital draft picks on a player who might not even get as many carrys as he expects becuase he has Vince Young at QB?

Considering that this is MORE than the Packers offer for Pro Bowler Larry Johnson, yes, I'd say the Chargers are asking for too much.

i mean what is most shocking about this whole thing is that which team is likely to be prepared to give up a first and third round pick? only teams desperate for a starting RB are likely to do that and on first glance that doesnt seem like anyone, not atleast anyone prepared to give up 2 vital picks as well

But he's still on the trading block. Chargers wanted a 1st & a 3rd but I think they're starting to realize they're not going to get that.
