Re: Jones Will Appeal Season-Long Suspension If what I read and heard is accurate, i think he may have a case. Goodell was tired of all the bad publicity. He knew he had to do something, so he made the "conduct detrimental to the NFL rule. He suspended them for a rule that was never in place. He made it up then enforced it on who he wanted. I am not saying I agree with Pacman. I believe he is a headcase and needed some sort of repercussion. I just don't like the idea of making up new rules in the middle of the game. I would hate to one day get pulled over for speeding and the cop tell me I had to go to jail because they just made a new law that 5 MPH over the limit is now a felony.

Re: Jones Will Appeal Season-Long Suspension yeah i totally see your point azrael, i mean fair enough if they had charged them and then created this new rule that would have been partly acceptable but you cant create a new rule and then enforce it in the harshest way possible on the league's most well known bad boy, i admit he has been acting like an idiot but that doesnt mean he should be treated differently and much harsher than anyone else just becuase the new commissioner wants to push his weight around and try and say "this is what im all about, mess up and you get the chair etc etc"

Re: Jones Will Appeal Season-Long Suspension He does make a vaild point, he hasn't been charged with anything. I can see goodell not wanting the negative attention and yes pac has acted stupid, but he does have a point. Theres no question he should be punished but maybe a year is too harsh, Im all for goodells new slam the hammer down approach to off field crimes and violations but you cant implement a new rule and apply it to past events. First let the rule be known and anyone who violates it in the future can be punished to that extreme. I thinks thats the fairest approach anyway..
