NFL Suspension: Pacman Jones

Quote:
Pacman Jones has been involved in 10 incidents where he was either arrested or interviewed by police since Tennessee selected him sixth overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.

that pretty much explains it right there

The NFL may soon hand down the kind of decision that could highlight Roger Goodell's brief reign as commissioner and put the spotlight squarely on his efforts to strengthen the league's personal conduct policy. Sources within the league office say the NFL is likely to set an example with its punishment of troubled Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman'' Jones, suspending him even before the legal process from a Las Vegas strip club brawl in February is complete. The suspension could wipe out his entire 2007 season.

will he be greatly missed or will you be glad to show him the door ?

and if he misses the entire season could he possibly be expected to spend the time wisely ?

i think if this happens he has two ways to go.......he can pull his head out of his butt and fly right........or he can become Lawrence Phillips

Re: NFL May Suspend Pacman Jones

thats what i was thinking, giving him a year off just means he might be more likely to cause more trouble, i can see what the NFL is trying to do here by possibly suspending him all season but i think that more personal action should be taken like sending him to rehab, otherwise hes just gonna go and do the same thing again, but i think it will be a big loss for us in terms of loosing a very good player because right now we need him at CB and we need him as a return man becuase we dont have anyone else, so he wont be kicked out of the door with all us smiling and waving but at the same time i dont think we will cry to see him go for the year, and who knows, hopefully this is the kick up the butt that he needs

do we know if his pay is going to be cut or suspended during this time?

Re: NFL May Suspend Pacman Jones

do the Titans make a draft move this year to replace him ?

do they have to look to move on without him or still hold out hope he will turn it around ?

Re: NFL May Suspend Pacman Jones

i think signing Nick Harper was a move to show that they arent looking to replace him and i think that unless we take someone late in the draft like we did with Coretland Finnegan who had an excellent season it would be a waste of an early pick to bring someone in who is only likely to start for a year

I'm not the one you asked, but that's never stopped me from butting in before. Anywho, by suspending him for the season (if they indeed do so), I think the NFL would also send a message to Jones, his family, the Titans, and whoever else will listen -- this needs to be the end of this kind of conduct. If he misses 2007, I fully expect Jones to come back on a much tighter leash in terms of his off-the-field activity, maybe even pre-approval required from the team for his social activities.

Re: NFL May Suspend Pacman Jones

i would hope Pacman is with us long term because he has the potential to be a very good player, but to be honest thats all i think about when i think about him. its too frustrating to think about his personal life and his convictions etc etc i just think of Pacman Jones as a good young Titan who has the potential to be a great Titan but may be on the verge of throwing all that away

what im also concerned about is if something happens to him before he learns his lesson e.g. if he gets shot in a drive by when hes riding in his drop top with his homies

Re: NFL May Suspend Pacman Jones

we should still draft a cb to replace him.bcuz you never know what might happen.and if we get lucky the cb we draft could end up better or as good as p.jones.

What's the earliest you think they should try for a corner, titans? Certainly not first round, right?

Re: NFL Suspension: Pacman Jones

Its definetly not looking good for pac, I think we should use our first pick on a wr and then maybe 2nd or 3rd for a cb..

1 year is not enough. I say BAN him from sports, then maybe he will learn his lesson.

Re: NFL Suspension: Pacman Jones

but doesnt banning him from the sport just release him onto the street? atleast while he is under the control of the Titans and the NFL they have a say on what they can do to discipline him and what they can take away from him, by letting him run wild he will be able to do what he wants when he wants and roll with his crew and cause more problems

I see what your saying, and I agree with you. But, he can go on the street whether he is with the Titans or not. Just because he plays in the NFL dosen't mean he's not allowed to go on the streets. If he keeps causing problems, then just put him in prison, then that will keep him off. But hopefully a 1 year suspension will knock some sense into his head. Heavy fines would definitely knock some sense into his head.

I agree, having more time means more trouble, The only way I think it's gonna click for pac is heavy fines, I dont think he's gonna play this season, I just cant understand how having the privelidge to play in the nfl and getting paid mad dollars makes you want to get into trouble and screw it all up...
