Trent Dilfer Claims Titans Stole His Playbook in 2000

In 2000, the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans were bitter rivals. This was before divisional realignment, when they were both in the AFC Central, and they played two tough, hard-fought games in the regular season, with the visiting team winning both times.

Round 3 came in the playoffs, and now Trent Dilfer, who at the time was the Ravens' quarterback, is accusing the Titans of stealing his playbook to gain an edge in that game.

This is one heck of an accusation made by Dilfer in a NFL Films special.

Dilfer talks about how his playbook disappeared after the regular-season game in Tennessee and how he was certain it was stolen. When the Ravens returned to face the Titans in the playoffs, Dilfer said, their defense was unusually well-prepared for what the Ravens were doing on offense -- as if somebody from the Titans had gotten hold of the Baltimore playbook. Dilfer didn't specifically accuse anybody, but he was just sayin'.

Anyone think there might be some merit to these charges?

this is such rubbish, i mean this is just a QB, 7 years on, trying to defend himself for a poor performance i mean if they story did hold merit then why did he not mention it the second it went missing or during that season or after the game was over so that someone could investigate it, why wait 7 years before telling anyone? no no, i would have believed it more if it had happened after the game or something like that but a few years on is just to far fetched in my opinion

I'm with Alex on this one, why several years later is this coming up? If he would've mentioned it within that year even I would look into it but not 7 years later. He's just making an excuse to why he played poorly...
