Cool Ban Pacman from the NFL

This is the fourth or fifth time Pacman has been in trouble, twice spitting in people's faces. This is simply a bad guy. Ban him. And maybe some of these other hoodlums who committ crimes will get the message. Who's with me?

Quote:
Adam (Pacman) Jones and the rapper Nelly threw hundreds of $1 bills on the stage at a Las Vegas strip club early Monday, sparking a melee and shooting that left three people injured, according to a search warrant issued to Las Vegas Metro Police.

Jones became irate when dancers picked up money he and Nelly had thrown at their feet.

Susnar said Jones grabbed the hair of one dancer and slammed her head against the stage. When security guard Aaron Cudworth intervened, Jones threatened to kill him, Susnar said.

Shortly after, a gunman opened fire, hitting Cudworth, security guard Tom Urbanski and a female customer. Cudworth and the woman were treated and released at University Medical Center, but Urbanski remains in critical care and will be paralyzed from the waist down by the bullet, which severed his spine.

Jones, 23, has faced criminal charges three times since the Titans made him the sixth pick in the 2005 draft out of West Virginia, all involving incidents at nightclubs in Tennessee. On Feb.1, a judge dismissed an assault charge filed after a woman claimed Jones spit on her in October at a club. Charges filed after a confrontation with a club manager in July 2005 also were dismissed. Jones was ordered to stay out of trouble until July 5 if he wants his criminal record cleared of public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges for an August arrest.

Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

No way should he be banned and I'm 110% there's no way he can be banned. But I do feel he should be disciplined by the Titans and/or league. If I were Commish, (unlike Stern), I wouldn't want my players to be involved in such serious altercations/events/crimes away from the sport.

Cool Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

Are you sure about that? Because of Pacman, a guy's spinal chord is severed. Allegedly, Pacman told this guy that "you're a dead man at the end of the night." I don't see how anybody would want this guy on their team.

On yesterday's WFAN in NY, Mike and the Mad Dog interviewed the guy's father and his wife.

Listen to this interview, and then re-answer the question. The whole thing is just a disgrace. From Pacman and his thuggish friends, to the reaction of the NFL and the NBA...and the Titans....And the Mayor of Las Vegas

WFAN - The Fan - Mike and the Mad Dog

Click on "Play" for Donald and Kathleen Urbanski. The second half is with his wife and is unreal.

Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

i dont get the point of what that attatchment was about? i get that the guy is in a bad way and that the NFL and now the NBA havnt reacted but there was no mention of an SOLID evidence against Pacman or that he should be thrown out of the NFL.

the guy has screwed up majorly in this and yeah he should be punished or the NFL should take action or the Titans should or whoever should take action against this but all the radio show showed us was that no one has taken any action and we should pray for the bouncer who got injured which we already knew.

but i still stand firm on my point that Pacman is a great player and based on his FOOTBALLING ability is a good asset for the NFL, with regards to his private life i have no comment as it doesnt concern football

So you would root for anybody, as long as they could play football? And what if 7 people heard people Pacman say to the guy that "You're dead."? And then coincidentally the guy gets shot a few seconds later?

Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

i dont think your getting what im saying, im not going to judge Pacman for what he does off the field, i judge him by what he does for the team, if all this turns out to be bad for the team then ill take note of what he has done off the field but as far as im concerned i pay attention to what Pacman Jones does when he puts on the Titans jersey steps onto the field, simple as that, the same way as i dont pry into other peoples personal life is the same way as i dont care what Pacman has done, it aint my problem and right now its not the teams so why should it bother me?

Well then, I would say that, "A jury of his peers has to agree their is a connection between the two and render a verdict."...short of that it doesn't mean a darn thing.

Wow, everything else aside -- and no disrespect intended, alex -- but I don't understand how someone could think like that. No matter what this guy does off the field, as long as he produces for your favorite team, he's OK in your book? Wow. I can't see thinking like that, at all.

Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

what i mean by that is that if you judge every player by the way he acts 24/7, on the field or off it then your bound to hate players or love them, im just saying that i havnt got the energy to judge a player one minute and then hate him the next just based on what he does with his social life...look at Drew Bennett for example, im a huge fan of his, but not for what he does OFF the field but becuase i think he is a great player on it, if i start delving into his personal life im sure he does or has done some stuff that is bad, so does that mean i begin to hate him as a player? all im saying is that i am a Titans fan, i support the Titans and with that i support the Titans players, we have like 60 players on the roster so does that mean if 55 of them are devil worshippers we should not like the team? or if they enjoy a glass of milk before a game but we are lactosintolerant we should look to support someone else?

im not having a go or going on a rant or anything im just saying that its to much of a strain to worry and judge and allow my love of football to be over shadowed by how much of an ass some players are off the field, as long as they play well on sunday's thats all that matters to me, and as long as they arnt hurting the team then they can do what they want

Um, YES. In my opinion, anyway. Obviously, there is a line -- I'm not going to mind if a player has different political beliefs. But if there are overt character issues where the guy is a thug, a wife-beater, a career criminal, etc. then yes, I will NOT root for the guy. Obviously, everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but if like in your example, a team is filled with devil-worshippers, and the front office/ownership knows that and turns a blind eye to it? The yes, the fanbase should abandon that team. Character trumps sports loyalty in my book, every time.

Re: Ban Pacman from the NFL

I wouldn't ban him but I think teams should take notice of having guys on their team with character flaws, it will most certainly disrupt your team.

That's wrong Gotham. A jury of his peers has to agree there is a connection between the 2 to send him to prison - not play in the NFL.

Playing in a professional sports league is not a constitutional right and has nothing to do with any kind of jury. I'm sure if the NFL threw him out, they would be sued, but if I were the NFL, I would let him sue to get back in.

And we're not "delving" into PACMAN's personal life. He's delving into OURS, by a consistent pattern of criminal behavior.

And Alex, let's say Ray Carruth got our of prison. As long as he could play WR, you'd be okay with that?
