Titans still have moves to make

Of course, the Titans shifted to a more run-oriented offense this year, featuring Travis Henry, and that made for fewer receiving opportunities. They also started a rookie quarterback in Vince Young for 13 games, and his growing pains as a passer have to be factored in.

But the problems at the receiver position cannot be ignored. Wide receiver remains a top need position for the Titans, either through the draft or free agency.

Both Bennett and Bobby Wade, who was second on the club with 33 receptions, are unrestricted free agents.

Brandon Jones proved to be a success story with 27 catches, coming off a serious knee injury, but Courtney Roby (two receptions) and Roydell Williams (eight receptions) were non-factors in the offense. Highly-touted Tyrone Calico succumbed to injuries and was released.

And David Givens, signed from New England to be the No. 1 receiver, never really got going because of injuries. His devastating knee injury leaves him in doubt for the start of 2007.
