Cool Titans sign Mawae

As a Jet fan, I've seen Mawae play every game the last few years. He is a great center. Looks like Tenessee with McNair back and some of their signings are really making a push to go for it this year.

Re: Titans sign Mawae

First Givens, now Mawae? I thought the Titans were in rebuilding mode or something. Solid pick-up; a good veteran center. I wonder how much he's got left in him, but with Mawae and McNair, it looks like they may be trying to squeeze something out here in the next year or two. I still don't think they're a playoff team, though. Not yet, anyway.

Re: Titans sign Mawae

Steve McNair signed a one year extension earlier in March and becomes a free agent at the end of 2006. I think McNair, and head coach Jeff Fisher talked a little and presented a few wants and needs to the front office. Obviously, the Titans were skeptical about signing McNair.

With the signing of Mawae, I think the Titans' organization wants to see if McNair still has it and maybe provide him a little more time to pass and some extra protection. Then after 2006, they'll see if he has some gas in the tank.

Cool Re: Titans sign Mawae

Welcome to Go Teams Go - GoTitansgo23. Were you as surprised as me with some of the Titan signings? I was under the impression that they were going to cut their ties with McNair and start re-building. It looks like they're going for it right now.
