the latest word is that with the departure of Bill Parcels the Titans will NOT be letting Coach Fisher go and though they have not been approached by the Cowboys yet they said in the event they are they will grant NO permission to the Cowboys to speak to coach Fisher. so is this the final say on if Coach Fisher will be staying with the Titans or is there more to come? i mean we have him under contract for this season and the word is that the team is trying to work out a more long term solution, but is there any reason for why coach fisher would be swayed to leave?

Contracts in Professionals sports are about as good as the paper they are written on.

yeah of course, i mean there is no 'loyalty' in professional sports its all about getting more money and bigger endoursments and going somewhere where you can win things, but i dont think Coach Fisher is that kind of guy but i guess nothing is decided until he signs on the dotted line

Titans: Cowboys haven't asked, Fisher off limits if they do
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Take Jeff Fisher's name out of the speculation on who might replace Bill Parcells with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Tennessee Titans have Fisher under contract for 2007 after owner Bud Adams picked up an option on his coach, and the team is working on a long-term extension.

"We haven't been contacted by Dallas," chief executive officer Steve Underwood said in a statement today. "In the event that we were, there are no circumstances that we would grant permission to the Cowboys to speak with Coach Fisher.

So there you have it -- the Titans will not allow the Cowboys to even interview Fisher, so as alex says, you can officially cross his name off the list of candidates for the Dallas opening. Any concerns that this might cause bad blood between Fisher and the front office?

ha ha, well im just goin by what ive heard i mean, but why would this cause a problem with the coach and the front office? i mean surely if he wanted to go we would have heard about it right? Coach Chow has been very open about wanting to go and be a head coach and he was one of the main candidates to take over in Arizona so i think we should be more worried about tension between him and the team rather than coach fisher

with VY on the Titans now and Norm Chow there to help groom his progression Fisher would be stupid to leave and Tenn would be stupid to let him go

seems with a couple smart moves here and there they should be a playoff team fairly easily for the next dozen years or so

You know, it's kind of funny, but at the beginning of the year, we were talking about whether or not the Titans should fire Fisher. Now, Titans fans would hate to see him go. Amazing what a difference a year can make, isn't it?
