Re: Titans playoff chances The Titans held up their end of the bargain by winning yesterday. The Titans need 4 of these 5 scenarios to happen (in addition to winning out). 1. Pittsburgh has to lose one game. Sun 12/24 Baltimore Sun 12/31 at Cincinnati 2. Jacksonville has to lose one game. Sun 12/24 New England Sun 12/31 at Kansas City 3. New York has to lose both remaining games. Mon 12/25 at Miami Sun 12/31 Oakland 4. Cincy has to lose all 3. Mon 12/18 at Indianapolis Sun 12/24 at Denver Sun 12/31 Pittsburgh 5. Denver has to lose both remaining games. Sun 12/24 Cincinnati Sun 12/31 San Francisco

Re: Titans playoff chances Hey guys, I'm a Steelers fan still smarting from the loss, but Tennessee is my bandwagon team. If you want to check out the scenarios you could have a look at the site I put together on the Steelers chances would help you undertand some of the hlp you need. For instance, you need Denver to win because if the Bentals win, you can't get past them, if the Donkeys win you can squeak past them indirectly. Have a look and email me if you have any questions. snarky pittsburghtitle.com

Re: Titans playoff chances I can't see the Jets, Broncos and Bengals each losing out to end the season. The Titans can make a valiant effort but Fisher's decision to start Collins earlier in the year may come back to bite them in the behind.

Re: Titans playoff chances these are the current scenarios that i worked out (there might be some errors, but i doubt it): All require Titans win in week 17. If Jets lose to Dolphins in week 16: Situation 1: Bengals lose Jets lose Chiefs lose Result: 5. Broncos 6. Titans Explanation: Broncos earn higher seed by conference record. Chance: 12.5% Situation 2: Bengals lose Jets lose Chiefs win Broncos win Result: 5. Broncos 6. Titans Explanation: Broncos earn higher seed by conference record. Chance: 6.25% Situation 3: Bengals lose Jets lose Chiefs win Broncos lose Result: 5. Titans 6. Chiefs Explanation: Chiefs knock Broncos out of wildcard race by division record. Titans earn higher seed by conference record. Chance: 6.25% Situation 4: Chiefs win Bengals win Jets lose Broncos lose Result: 5. Bengals 6. Titans Explanation: Chiefs knock Broncos out of wildcard race by division record. Bengals and Titans knock out Cheifs by conference record. Bengals earn higher seed by conference record. Chance: 6.25% Situation 5: Chiefs win Bengals lose Jets win Broncos lose Result: 5. Bengals 6. Titans Explanation: Chiefs knock Broncos out of wildcard race by division record. Jets and Titans knock out Cheifs by conference record. Jets earn higher seed by head-to-head. Chance: 6.25% Total chance: 37.5% If Jets defeat Dolphins in week 16: Situation 1: Chiefs win Bengals lose Broncos lose Result: 5. Jets 6. Titans Explanation: Chiefs knock Broncos out of wildcard race by division record. Jets and Titans knock out Cheifs by conference record. Jets earn higher seed by head-to-head. Chance: 12.5% Overall chance that Titans make playoffs is at 25% assuming that all games are 50/50. From all these scenarios, there is no game that has to go one way, so the only team that has to win is the Titans, as well as getting some of the necessary help.

The Tennessee Titans know they're in the midst of an amazing run. They see no reason to stop now, not when they're so close to an improbable, once unthinkable, playoff berth. No NFL team has ever started 0-5 and made the playoffs. But the Titans (8-7) have hope and a chance to make history thanks to rookie quarterback Vince Young and a six-game winning streak that makes anything seem possible. Link To Original Article

| Re: Titans playoff chances Stranger things have happened. Beating the Patriots will the the tough part, I think. Pittsburgh will be eager to finish their season (and possibly their coach's career) with a win over Cincy in a spoiler role, San Fran has been a surprising team that has at least a slight chance to upset Denver at Mile High, and K.C. should beat Jacksonville. It'll be fun to see how this plays out. That said... Titans fans, how cool is it that we're even having this discussion after an 0-5 start?

Re: Titans playoff chances Can you believe it! The Titans had a chance! If they won against New England they would have been in the playoffs! But when Vince Young needed to produce, he came up short and stupid Belichek didn't rest his starters till about 3 minutes left in the game! If your a Titans fan like me, I know you're pissed and its gonna take a while to recover. But just think about next season, you know the Titans are going to make the postseason and VY can only get better!
