Jeff Fisher contract extension

CBS's Charlie Casserly is reporting that the Titans will offer Jeff Fisher a multi-year contract extension this week, and that Fisher is expected to sign it and remain as the coach of the Tennessee football team. Your thoughts?

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

yes finally! Jeff Fisher, and i mention this as much as possible as you guys may know, but he is one of the most unrecognised coaches in the NFL. i think giving him this multi year contract will not only be good for him because the titans fans, with the exception of the 'plastic fans', love him and he is without doubt one of the reasons why this team will continue to progress, i think he is a great coach and give him a season or 2 and he will continue to do great things with this franchise and if he wants he can have my babies as well

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

Jeff Fisher has just been offered a multi-year contract extension by owner bud Adams....

I dont think Fisher is going anywhere...next year the Titans will be competing for the division and/or playoffs next year.... especially after today

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

hey you never know, if we continue to play like we have done for the past few games and some other games go our way, we could be getting a wild card place this season, now THAT would be incredible

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

Fisher is still one of the top coaches in the game so as long as he's wanted and offered the moolah...I see no problem or issue with him staying with the Titans. Vince Young should develop into a great pro under him.

It shouldn't really be a big suprise to anyone who is a titan's fan.
After watching the last 5 weeks, you can clearly see why it's time to renew his contract. Making sure he is happy and that sort of thing.
He isn't the house, but he's kind of the electric...you know.
You have to pay your bills, keep the electric on.
Keep fisher around..lol

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

you know 'i_know' that is possibly one of the most unusal analogies ive ever heard, but i understand it totally! Jeff is the heart and soul of this team and he keeps it going, hes the electrics in our house, the heart in our body, the coal in our steam train, the jelly in our doughnut, hes not on the field making the plays but he is the one GIVING the plays, preparing the team each week, ripping into them when they need it and praising them when they should have it too

excellent analogy

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

ok maybe this will help sort things out a little. i found this by chance when reading through some articles on nfl.com:

NFL.com - NFL News

it basically says that we HAVE NOT offered jeff fisher a contract extension but talks MAY commense at the end of the season, but it gives a very good description of how Jeff loves the titans, the team, the personale and tennessee, so in saying all of that why would he wanna leave, we have a team now that can be competing for the super bowl in the next few years and i have no doubt in my mind about that, so if hes getting the big bucks as well why does everyone thinks hes gonna leave?

Re: Jeff Fisher contract extension

Yeah I think Jeff Fisher is a guy who has been dealt a lot of tough cards lately and has done great things. This guy will have that team in great shape, definetely a great move to give him and extension and keep him off the market....
