Report: Arizona State contacts Titans' Chow

Arizona State's search for a coach has found its way to Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow.

A source for the East Valley Tribune (Mesa, Ariz.) confirmed Wednesday that Arizona State has contacted Chow, whose most recent college coaching job was offensive coordinator on USC's national title teams in 2003 and 2004. Word of the Sun Devils' interest in Chow spread through the Titans' offices.

Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, however, said late Wednesday that no one at Arizona State had asked him for permission to talk with Chow, as would be the protocol.

``If there is any interest in any of our coaches, they would contact them, then the coaches would come to me about it, and no one has contacted anyone,'' Fisher said. ``These coaches are here and want to be here.''

This rumor's been floating around the college football forums recently ( see Norm Chow and Arizona State ), and now its looking more and more like the Titans' offense coordinator will be leaving the NFL and going back to coach in the Pac-10. How big of a loss would this be for your offense, should Chow move on?

not a big one to be honest, i dont think that Norm Chow has shown any signs of helping the team along, fair enough we have a rookie and he is leading a new team and we have a new offense, but i dont think that Chow has shown anything great, whoever is making the current play callings on offense for the past few games becuase they have done excellent, i dont think its coach fisher because if my understanding is correct coach fisher was a DB coach and is more of a defensive coach rather than an offensive coach.

anyway i think Norm Chow is an expendable coach and with the team, in my opinion, that is going to make HUGE strides next year, if we need a new offensive coach then so be it
