Titans vs. Colts

Okay, so its time for the highly anticipated rematch. Tennessee played Indy very close in the first match-up of these two teams, and in yesterday's game against the Giants, some of the NFL pundits seem to be saying that they think Vince Young has started to come of age. One even said that Young was playing as well as he did against USC last year. But the Colts are the Colts, and now it looks like they've found a running game with Joseph Addai, who tied a team record with four rushing TDs in last night's win over Philly. Any chance the Titans can upset the Colts in this one?

Re: Titans vs. Colts

ha ha, you know the way we are playing who knows? i doubt we will win this one, our run has been TOO lucky so far that i think its a little to much to ask to beat the 10-1 Colts but hey you never know, we only lost by one point last time and Vince is learning well, but i dont see the Colts making as many mistakes as the Giants did, im not gonna predict anything for this game because when i did we lost and on the past 2 games ive said nothing and we have won so im staying quiet

Re: Titans vs. Colts

I've got a feeling that Peyton won't choke like Eli did. Sure something weird can happen, I mean we played them alot closer in Indy than anybody expected. But I just don't see the Colts losing to the Titans.

My main expectation for the Titans vs. Colts is that we continue to see progress from Vince and the offense. Hopefully, we'll score 20 points which will be enough to win some games. If the Titans defense can hold Manning to under 25 or 30, that will be decent for them but I don't think our defense is good enough to really shut them down.

Re: Titans vs. Colts

yeah hopefully everything will go better than normal, i think we got so close to Indy at the beginning of the season because they werent expectinig us to do so well, but with these games on our back and the two wins i think they will come out hitting hard and playing well

Re: Titans vs. Colts

I think this will be a good experience for Vince, he'll have a chance to watch the master, give him something to aspire to become.
The Titans defense (in last for total D)will have a difficult time stopping the Colts air and ground game. Addai could rush for 200+ and rack up a couple more TDs in this one. Mayby Marvin could get a few more tossed his way, he was a little up set that against the Eagle, the Colts had to switch to the ground game.
Marvin let the field early prior to half time and then didn't even try to make the tackle after he got pick off, he just stood there.

Colts - 31
Titans - 10

Re: Titans vs. Colts

not trying to be a homer here, but...

titans have a good chance in this game.

indy's weak run defense and vy's getting better in his pass.
predictions:

henry 130yds
vanden bosch 1 sack
pacman 1 int

Titans are in last place for total defense.
Oh yeah and did I mention that Peyton Manning plays for the Colts.
Are you sure you don't want to reconsider.

I agree that we can do some stuff on offense but I just don't see us shutting down the Colts offense enough to stay in this one. But I hope you're right.

Re: Titans vs. Colts

Baline i see your point actually i mean we do have 'statistically' the worst defense in the league and allow something like 250+ yards passing, but ye we have won 4 games so far, 2 of which were against possible playoff contenders, held Indy to a one point win this season and if you look at the records we are like 8th from bottom in terms of win/loss ratio so we have a good chance, travis henry has been getting HUGE gains on the ground and against the Ravens, one of the top defenses in the NFL he ran for 100+ yards on the ground, Vince young seems to run anywehre and everywhere he wants to and against Indy whose to say what might happpen, we have suprised a lot of people this year so you never know, and with Pacman showing maturity since his suspension he could be a suprise in this game, our rush defense isnt as bad as we think and we just have to make sure we hassle Peyton 'Pocket' Manning and we should have a good game

okie dokie.
we held that offense to 14 points, which the winning td came down in the 4th quarter. we lost by one point, and i don't care about statistics, they don't really show THAT much.

jones is a better cb ALL-AROUND, being able to shut down a team's go to wr(but in mind they have harrison, wayne AND stockley, which we'll probaly double team wayne and stick pacman on harrison. Maybe the other way around). we can stop addai if we keep our line bunched up.

i'm not WE WILL win trhis game. I'm saying we have a good *CHANCE*.

edit: plus we have Haynesworth back. a huge player in our d-line.

a lot of this team has been improving GAME to GAME. next season we'll fight for a wc spot.

here, here! An excellent, realistic goal for the 2007 Titans.

Re: Titans vs. Colts

If the Titans WR's catch the ball....i think we will win this game.
And oh yeah, we can't have those fumbles like we did vs NY.
Our defense, ranked last...is explosive at times, NOT JUST PACMAN!
I don't see our defense taking the feild and letting the colts get away with their normal production...... Im sure every defensive player we have is pumped right now and wants to either HIT manning, or INT him.
We all know payton is the best at what he does...but...he isn't mobile (he looks like a Homosexual when he trys to be mobile), and doesn't have the ability to convert on 3rd downs, using his legs...like VY.
Pass's can be over/under thrown, dropped etc.
hopefully his pass's on 3rd downs will be incomplete, so Pac can get some returns, and we can drive.
I think Travis Henry can have a big day, for sure.

Like always, lets just wait and see.
Stats = nothing, when the clock is ticking.
Go Titans!

Wait a second!!...lucky??...more like impressive!!..I have never seen a team, especially a young one, play the way the Titans have over the past eight weeks. Vince Young btw is 4-4 as a starter. plus if he AND the team dont make the plays in the fourth quarter the Titans dont win. If pacman doesnt make the catches, or Vince make the throws then the Titans LOSE!!!....
Lucky??..no taking advantage of the opportunites that have been presented to them.. as the coaches constantly say "let the game come to you" the opportunity came and the Titans took it. If you look in the past couple of years the Titans would never take those opportunities...they would always miss it. Now they are making the plays when they are there and that "my friends" is a true sign of a team "growing up"
If the Titans take advantage of thier opportunities this week against the Colts (esp at Home) and make plays they will win...if they are timid, they will lose...but with thier confidence at an all time high for the season i seriously doubt that will happen....
i predict a close one...both teams making plays...
Titans28
Colts 24
