Post Titans RB Travis Henry

Good article here about the emergence of Titans RB Travis Henry.

The Titans came into the season wanting to run, but they stumbled through the first four games averaging a mere 70.3 yards per game. They benched Chris Brown and turned to Travis Henry, a six-year veteran and one-time Pro Bowler who had been hampered by injuries and a suspension the past two seasons.

Henry has topped 100 yards rushing in four of the six games and posted a career-high 178 yards in the Titans' first win this season at Washington. He broke off the longest run of his career, a 70-yarder, in last week's 31-13 win at Philadelphia.

"Travis is a very, very strong, powerful inside runner with excellent vision, and he's hard to get down," Fisher said. "That's been the case at the University of Tennessee. That was the case at Buffalo when he was healthy. We knew it was just a matter of time and him getting healthy again, and that's what he's done."

Henry is averaging 4.7 yards per carry with 729 yards despite being deactivated twice this season.
The way he's playing now, I have to ask... why was Fisher so hesitant to go to Henry as the featured back?

Re: Titans RB Travis Henry

thats a good question and i think its simply because when we traded for him last season he came in as a number 2 back, behind Chris 'glass ankles and glass knees and glass hips' Brown and when called upon in the games didnt really explode like the type of player you would expect to give up one of yout draft picks for, but now he has proven what an effective runner he can be i dont think Coach Fisher will look back, it'll be Henry/White for a good few seasons now.
