Jeff Fisher to Dallas Cowboys

More rumors around Coach Fisher. This time, it's Jeff Fisher to Dallas to take Parcells spot if he retrires.

Quote:
Fisher's name has been linked in the rumor mill to the Dallas Cowboys, if coach Bill Parcells decides to retire.

Published reports have suggested that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is enamored with Fisher, who despite being just 48 years old is in his 12th full season as head coach of the Titans and 13th overall after taking over for the final six games of the 1994 season. The franchise was still the Houston Oilers then.

While Fisher is held in high regard among NFL teams, there is a Web site called firecoachfisher.com that lists his five losing seasons and omits the seven years the team went .500 or better.

"If you let those kind of things bother you, it will affect you," he said. "You just brush it off. Only the people inside the building truly know what is going on."

In 1990, Fisher almost became the Eagles' head coach. He was defensive coordinator under Buddy Ryan. When owner Norman Braman fired Ryan, he had two candidates: Fisher and Eagles offensive coordinator Rich Kotite. Braman picked Kotite. Fisher left in 1991 to become defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams.

Re: Jeff Fisher to Dallas Cowboys

The question is, does Jeff Fisher want to go to Dallas? You also need to ask a couple of other questions. Can Jeff Fisher work with a guy like Jerry Jones who has his hands in everything? I don't think Jeff Fisher would put up with TO's antics for ver long. How would he deal with Jerry's golden boy?

Oddly enough, TO has been very quiet the couple weeks, Romo has found a way to passify the big baby. I think the best way to deal with TO, ignore him like you would any other child having a tantrum.

he should stay with the Titans, although Romo and TO sound good together....he would have a better chance to win in Dallas

Re: Jeff Fisher to Dallas Cowboys

This was surreal..
I was driving over to pick up my daughter from her work
last night and as any good football dad would do, I was listening
to the Panthers Eagles game.
Well at 1/2 time they had Jeff Fisher on doing an interview.
The last question the guy asked him was there any truth to the rumor
that after Bill Parcells leaves you're going to take over the Cowboys
and you know what? He danced around the question like some politician!
First you hear rumors about CHarlie Weis and Jerry Jones being best friends then you hear that Weis is rumored to be the next Giants head coach and now we hear that Jeff Fisher is interested.
I've been a fan of the Cowboys since 1970 and if there's one thing thats
a constant with them its the fact that if they don't have at least 10 rumors surround them during the year it hasn't been a good year.

I mean what good coach wouldn't want a loaded team like the Cowboys?

Jeff Fisher and that talent would be a great fit but I'm not sure if Jerry Jones and Jeff Fisher would be.
I think though that with Parcells as coach we've seen Jerry stay in the background more than in previous years.
If Jerry were to give Fisher the checkbook and say, "You keep getting good talent in here and you can write the checks" then I'de say that Fisher could win another 2 Super Bowls for them in the next 4 years..

Thats my rumor mill and I'm sticking to it.

Helixx.
