Exclamation Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

This is a simple fact of the matter come Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a superior offense, the best in the league, might I add, that is going up against a slipshod Tennessee defense. Their unit is terrible.

The Eagles defense is tenacious and will be forcing Young out of the pocket and sacking him all day. Jim Johnson will devise a scheme to shut down the young, and inexperienced Young from the first play.

McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Donte' Stallworth, and Reggie Brown will not be stopped as the Eagles roll all over Tennessee at the Linc on Sunday.

Re: Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

Have to agree with you on this one, the Eagle 5th ranked Offence against the 31st ranked Defense in the NFL, should lead to total domination.

Poor V. Young is going to learn alot about Profootball on Sunday.

Re: Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

No question about it, on paper, the Eagles should dominate. But for some reason we still have to play the game.

And the Titans haven't always followed what it says on paper.

Vince Young has made his share of rookie mistakes, just like everybody expected. And he's had a number of exciting plays that went for big gains & TD's, just like everybody expected. He will be the difference maker on Sunday. If he can cut down on his mistakes and create enough opportunities, the Titans can pull the upset.

Our defense usually stinks but we've played up in some of the games. Despite the rumors, we do still some professional athletes on this team. Pacman said we needed more thugs on our team and (what do you know) Albert Haynesworth will be back. I think I smell upset

I'll make the pick:
Titams 23
Eagles 21

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this on. MY pick would be:

Eagles - 21
Titans - 7

Re: Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

Eagles DC thinks Vince can make some plays...

Quote:
"Vince Young is a little bit different than Michael Vick," Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson said. "He can run like Michael but doesn’t as much. He prefers to stay in the pocket, but when he runs, he uses the middle of the field. Michael is a little more edgy and likes to turn the corner. Vince is equally as dangerous, though."

According to Johnson, Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher and offensive coordinator Norm Chow have streamlined their game plan in Young’s first season in an attempt to augment the Texas product’s effectiveness.

"They’ve really simplified everything for Vince," Johnson said. "They’ve become a combination of a pro offense and college offense, something he was familiar with at Texas. They cut down quite a bit (when Young replaced Kerry Collins as the starter), so he’d be more comfortable. Vince is doing a good job, and he’s making plays."

Post Eagles wary of last-place Titans

The standings, point spread and team rankings suggest the Philadelphia Eagles should have an easy time against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Not so fast.

The Eagles (5-4) have been favored in all their games this season, but managed to lose four, including three in a row at one point. Each of their five wins has come by a double-digit margin, but they didn't play a complete game in all phases until last week's 27-3 victory over the Washington Redskins.

Meanwhile, the Titans (2-7) are have lost four games by seven points or less, including one-point losses at undefeated Indianapolis and last week against first-place Baltimore.

"They are the best 2-7 football team that we will have played," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "They have a lot of talent. It just happens to be a lot of young talent that's getting better every week. It's a good, solid football team offensively, defensively and also on special teams."

11 point lead & we're into the 3rd quarter. Can the Titans hold onto this one?

Re: Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

hi...erm i was wondering if anyone could tell me where yesterdays titans have been hiding all season? you know the titans im talking about the titans that got 100+ yards in the air 209 yards on the ground and scored on both special teams and defense against a team most would pick to go into the playoffs? it just doesnt seem right we had 7 receivers who couldnt go over 30 yards, our leading receiever was a fullback and our QB completed 8 of 22 passes now in most games (and it has happened this season) this would mean a team buckling under pressure and loosing BUT OH NO! last night we pulled one hell of a performance out of our asses and showed those Eagles and Andy 'The Walrus Head' Reid how to play football!

gotta give a big shout out to Captain Amazing Keith Bulluck who led from the top and played his heart out with a TD and 8 tackles, Cortland Finnegan who has been a great late draft pick, Chris Hope and Lamont Thompson who scooped things up very well at the back, our entire special teams unit who played very well and even forced a fumble on the last posession and of course Travis Henry for gulpping up those yards on the ground. and finally...and you will only hear this in a blue moon..thanks to Pacman Jones who is FINALLY showing some maturity and playing well. all round great performace and Jeff Fisher to the cowboys? YEAH RIGHT!

Re: Eagles Should Dominate Sunday

I'm glad we won but I think this was the difference in why we won this game:

Quote:
McNabb was injured on the second snap of the second quarter on a seemingly harmless play. He was rolling to his right near the Tennessee sideline and was bumped out of bounds by Kyle Vanden Bosch after throwing an incomplete pass. He grabbed his right knee and was immediately tended to by trainers before being carted off.
Sure we had 31 points against their defense but the Eagles offense only scored 13 points.

Does anyone think we would have won if McNabb had played the whole game?
