this has to be THE MOST ridiculous fine to give to anyone, he gets fined for saying he doesnt agree with one of THE MOST blatent calls ever, how can the guy be ruled down if he is still on his feet i mean im not a coach and ive never played college ball, only american football in the UK which is no comparrison, but im suprised that coach fisher didnt take his team out of the game and boycot the whole thing, i mean this wasnt some tiny, first minute in the first quater sort of play, this was an IMPORTANT play in and IMPORTANT game and coach fisher gets fined for speaking his mind...yes it WAS a ridiculous call, im suprised he didnt use more 'colourful' words than that, i mean for God sake the Bucs head coach swear constantly during the game..but our coach excersises his constitutional right to free speech and gets fined for speaking the truth i dont get that...someone PLEASE explain to me what this whole fine was about?

The players were giving him hell about it on the news. Razzing him about "I've had my share of fines so I don't feel too sorry for him... how much? $12,500? Ouch.. ok, maybe I feel a little sorry for him..."

Fisher did the right thing, fighting for his team. But I can kinda see the NFL's side of no badmouthing the refs, even when they make a bone head call.

No good solution, the NFL can't sanction coaches bad mouthing the refs but they can't allow these kind of mistakes.

I am not sure of the rules to this, but is there some sort of repercussion to a ref for making a wrong call. If the players and coaches get fined for saying it was a bad call, what happens to the ref that made the call?

Dunno. maybe they put them in the replay booth where they can wear thicker glasses

"There was no way in the world I should have been challenging the play in the first place," Fisher said on Sunday. "That was a bad call by the umpire. And that's what bothers me. We all saw it, everybody saw it. The runner is upright and the ball came out. Now how you get down by contact I have no idea. I hope they hear me in New York because that was field position, and we lost by a point."
