Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

Big AFC Southern division match-up here between two improving teams in the Texans and the Titans. Tennessee had a bye week last week, but definitely seemed to be moving in the right direction beforehand. Meanwhile, the Texans beat the Jaguars on Sunday thanks to a pair of David Carr TD passes and the emergence of rookie RB Wali Lundy. It'll be a close one, so I've gotta go with the home team, 17-14, in this one. What do you think?

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

im obviously gonna go for the Titans to win this one, but i dont think its gonna be as close as a field goal game i think its gonna be a 10 point differential in this game. i can see Vince doing well after having a rest from the bye week, i can see the defense stepping up and atleast 4 sacks plus 2 picks, what im most worried about is us giving up yards on the run, after last weeks performance and us being the second worst rush defense in the league i can see them exploiting us on the ground but not so much in the air...for once ...

someone who i can see not playing very well is Mario Williams, he hasnt performed like a first draft pick, course when your playing for the Texans i dont believe anyone can, but i think he will be kept quiet with our new vamped O line

in my opinion i think that this game will decide the rest of our season, if we dont win then i dont expect us to come close to having a winning season this year

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

Well, the Texans finally woke up...I got to go with David Carr over Vince Young, though the Titans ground game should roll against the Texans.

In a Carr makes it two in a row...Texans 24 - Titans 21.

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

i dunno about that GDK, i mean we are coming off a bye week, a win, had 2 back to back games with 100+ yards on the ground and against 2 good teams in Indi and Miami we only lost by a field goal away from home no doubt, i just think that this has to be OUR game, but like i said if we loose this game i dont see us getting a winning season

but your entitled to your opinion of course...im just saying i dont like it

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

is this a make or break game for Fisher ?

we already have people calling for his job.......add to that a loss to the Texans and what will we have ?

people marching against him like they were marching against Millen

this game could show it the Titans want Fisher to stay or if they want a new coach by how hard they play

i like the Titans in this one 17 - 13

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

i think we have a lot on our side for this game (coming off and win and a bye week and playing at home) and i HOPE that it wont be Coach Fishers last becuase like i said in another thread, what would be the advantage of changing coachs 7 games into a season? would people expect a new coach to come in and take us to 11-5? i think everything should be dealt with in the offseason, throw out Norm Chow, throw out Reese Flloyd and let Coach Fisher....COACH! not give him this feeling that the next slip up could be his last. i mean Coach Fisher is a Titan through and through, you saw after the Redskins game and even the commentators said "hes celebrating like its a Superbowl win!" he may not show the most emotion before the game, during the game and in the pre game interviews but little sparks of emotions such as when the time ran out in the Redskins game showed us why Coach Fisher is the coach for the Titans

Titans 27 - 17 Texans

oh yeah without a doubt, i mean coach fisher is definatly one of the most unrecognised coaches in the league, just becuase hes not winning all the time doesnt make him a bad coach, but i definatly think if he does go he will have his choice of jobs and providing he goes into a solid team (meaning a team not in a transition period such as the titans) he will do very very well and then all you non-fisher believers out there will be thinking to yourselves "oh damn, if we had only waited a season or two until we had got a solid team together we could do great things. i mean this is the same coach that took us to the superbowl with a solid team right?

No doubt he would be the leading candidate to take over in Dallas or Arizona.

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

The Titans are on a modest two game winning streak now after a 28-22 victory over the Texans. Vince Young only threw 15 passes but he completed seven of them for a touchdown. He also ran for a score while leading the team in rushing yards.

Adam Jones and Chris Hope each had a pick while Vanden Boesch had a pair of sacks (the Titans D had 4 total).

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

.........ha...............haha...........hahahahaa hahah ..............Texans (once again) lose to us. I really think that their team owner should just call it a disaster and shutdown this horribly playing team. 28-22 What a game. Pacman which is my favorite player on the team had a blast. Texans is a minor league team.

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

im both worried and pleased after this game. pleased of course that we won and we have won 2 games, pleased that we are getting things together and pleased that 5 of the last 9 games we play will be at home. im worried however becuase those are against some good team, im worried that our persuit to having a winning season will result in us dropping down the draft league at a time when we need to bring in a few more good players before we have a roster that is worth competing with the big boys and worried becuase i just dont feel confident about the team at the moment, yeah im on a high after winning two straight but i feel that we are going into a game worrying about loosing and not thinking about winning.

i think the game against Jacksonville will be the decider about our season, i dont see us making a wild card place if we beat them and go second in the division because there are too many divisions with teams on alomst equal records, but i think the Jacksonville game will show us where we are at the moment, in terms of the team we are and if we are going to progress further next season

Post Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans - AP Recap

Two in a row for the Titans, eh? Here's the AP recap of the win over Houston.

Quote:
Vince Young danced on the grass, tossing his cap to cheering fans as he made his final exit from the Tennessee Titans' field. David Carr spent most of the second half grabbing the neck of his jersey, angry at being benched for committing too many turnovers. At least Young left some people in Houston happy: Young finally admitted he was glad to beat his hometown team after he ran for a touchdown and...

So why is this team winning all of a sudden? What do you think is the #1 factor in the turnaround?

i think one factor is that we have had a solid team for a few games thus far, at the beginning we had players coming in and out, a shacky QB and players being replaced and moved from position to position because of injuries, but now we have a relatively good starting team.

i also believe that the excellent play Travis Henry has shown has taken some of the heat of Vince Young, before he was a rookie QB being thrown in and having a lot expected of him, but i think it really settels a guy down to know that he doesnt have to make a throw on every down, he can hand it off to a reliable RB who can pick up some yards.

in terms of defense i think the LB and the D line are getting into the game more, at the beginning of the season they were all pretty quiet and i rememeber that our FS Lamont Thompson was getting the majority of tackles in atleast two games which i personally think is a bad thing when your last line of defense is making the stops. the CB have stepped up now also, not quiet playing as well as they could perhaps but definatly an improvement to the beginning of the season.

and one overall factor is that when we went 0-5 people didnt expect much from us so there isnt as much pressure to play excellent ball, now we can go into games and if we loose its "ah well another L to add to the list" but if we just play our game and play it well we start adding a few W's here and there and before you know it...dare i say it...could we get a .500 season

Re: Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

Fantastic game to attend.
Vanden Bosch played fantastic, having an official of 2 sacks.(should have had 4)
Pacman definatelt stepped it up big this game.
Defense as a whole were extremely well, 5 turnovers, making tackles, and good excellent coverage on wrs.
The only thing that worried me is our offense, we need to mix up our running game a little bit more, we can't keep getting stuck on 3 and longs.
