Question Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

Let's all get out our crystal ball and try and forcast where the Tennessee Titans will be in the year 2008. Right now, it seems, the Titans are sitting pretty, with 41MM in cap money to spend, most likely a second and third round draft choice in 2007 and remarkable improvement on both sides of the ball especially by Vince Young and Travis Henry just to mention two.
My prediction you ask? Well If improvement continues at the present rate, I see the Titans making the playoffs with a record of 10 & 6 but not making it all the way to the big show. Dominate teams of the present, like the Colts, will be having the same problems the Titans are having right now with salary cap issues. I know I sound kinda vage in my prediction but that's because I want YOU to join in tell me what you think 2008 will hold.
Let's talk Titans!

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

Hi BKSsports, welcome to GoTeamsGo

I disagree with your prediction. Unless they show me something later this season to change my mind, I think 2007 should be about 4-5 wins and 2008 will get them to about 7-8 wins. Of course there are plenty of variables, and who really knows but I just don't see us leapfrogging that many teams to get to a 10 win 2008. But I sure hopre you're right & I'm wrong

Look forward to chatting more with you.

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

You can never predict things like that so i suggest that we just watch the titans from your home or go to the games like me and relax. Next year is the main deal. Vince has tooken us over the top with almost beating the colts and beatings the redskins. So wht will he do next year. He probaly wont get us to the playoffs but he might in 2008. tht is prediction either 2008 or 2009 . Thnx cya

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

Granted, it is impossible to predict the future, many things could go very right or very wrong this year and beyond. I've been a PSL holder from the very beginning, I was a member of "NFL Yes", and campaigned hard each and every day for the Oilers to come to Nashville and I celebrated late into the night when the vote "Yes" was final. I tell you this because, I, as well as so many other Titans fans are spoiled from winning. We're used to winning and to lose the way we did last year and at the first of this season is hard to deal with. Many fans (or so-called fans) wanted the fireing of coaches, staff and players, thinking that was a necessary step in turning the program around. My prediction of a winning season and playoff return in 2008 is soley based on the fact that the Titans have one of the most intelligent front offices in the NFL, alot of money to spend, new talent and high draft opportunities. Yes they (the Titans front office) can and will make mistakes, but they know what they're doing when it comes to putting a winning team on the field in the shortest time possable. Sure, my 2008 prediction may not come true, and if it doesn't, I'll wait until it does.
As fans, let's suck it up and watch what this staff does...we may learn something about what it takes to be fans.
Sorry for the long spill.
BKS

My crystal ball doesn't go that far into the future.

But I think Vince Young and LenDale White will be big.

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

You're right MJH, and don't forget about Travis Henry, putting up triple digits in the last two games. PacMan is also coming into his own (keeping my fingers crossed he does'nt do anything stupid). I was a huge Jay Cutler fan, but I really believe Vince is best suited for the Titans.
Thanks for the reply

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

Well, lets see. Under head coach Butch Davis, I can see the Titans going 9-7 , getting a wild card after edging out Jacksonville by a field goal made by Mike Vanderjagt. That's right, the idiot kicker who wore out his welcome at Dallas before being traded by head coach Jeff Fisher.

I'm sorry, call me ignorant, but what does Butch Davis have to do with the Titans going 9-7? You lost me on this one. Please explain.

Read the question!!!! They asked "Where do you see the Titans in 2008?" That is where I see them. I was thinking that if the Titans hired Butch Davis as their head coach, they could possibly go 9-7. It's mere speculation.

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

I think the titans are like one of the worst team in the NFL right now, the only worst team are the Okland Raiders. We'll just have to see how thier rookie QB Vince Young will handle under preasue for the next few seasons. I love Travis henry( average 96 yards per game), but hate Lendale white becuase he averges like only 26 yards per game he plays!

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

yeah your right staticts show that we are one of the worst teams in the NFL, thanks for that. in terms of pressure i think that Vince has overcome all of that already in my opinion. i mean he has been told over and over again that he is going to be the future of the franchise, got thrown into the NFL with minimal warming up and is 1-1 as a starter so i think all the jitters he may have had as a rookie are subsiding and from here on in i think all the mistakes hes gonna make are gonna be normal mistakes, not so much the mistakes you would expect from a player in his position

and in terms of the LeDale/Travis scenario i like them both and i think the only way you can judge a player is how he plays on the field and how he conducts himself off it, hes playing like a second string rookie now which so far is ok and off the field...well hes not exactly T.O. or anything is he

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

I fail to see where we could say his jitters are all but over from two starts.....Travis Henry isnt what you want in Tennessee, he was good in Buffalo as he punded the ball and was a consistent rusher. He is prone to the big fumble, drugs, and not getting that one yard when you need it the most. As far as the Titans in 2008, I believe they will probably still be in the basement of the league really. I dont see them really going anywhere now, getting beat up every year by the Jags and Colts. They need a more respectable pass rush and secondary to really progress as a team.

Re: Where do you see the Titans in 2008?

The only three players I like on the Titans are:
1)Vince Young--Texas Alumni
2)Lendale White--Rookie Class
3)Drew Bennett

However, I love their jerseys.

Their future doesn't look bright right now with Vince Young but anything can happen.

Personally, I would not have rushed Vince Young into his career three games into his season. You have to wait for him to feel comfortable in the pocket and have the ability to scan the field for open WRs. Unfortunately, his confidence might have affected him so much that he may start to scramble on every play!
