| Keep Coach Fisher - KeepCoachFisher.com On the heels of the FireCoachFisher.com website, some Titans fans who want to keep Coach Fisher have started a website to give Jeff Fisher supporters an equal voice. The site is KeepCoachFisher.com There's already been a writeup about KeepCoachFisher.com in the Tennessean newspaper but I went straight to the source to get some more more insight for us. Trish Davenport is the webmaster who launched KeepCoachFisher.com. It went live Sunday before the Cowboys game. Besides having a place to support Jeff Fisher, Trish & her friends wanted to make sure people know that it takes more than one season to rebuild a team. I asked her what they wanted to accomplish with KeepJeffFisher.com... Quote:

If you want to keep Jeff Fisher, head over to the site and add your comments to the petition they started. Some thoughts for your comments here... Does it make sense to try to spread the word about coaches with websites? Does it make a difference? Does anybody want to Fire Floyd Reese? Should I register FireFloydReese.com?

| Re: Keep Coach Fisher - KeepCoachFisher.com Seems like websites are the best way for fans to sound off these days. During radio call in shows, only a handful of people can voice their opinions at a given time, and said shows usually have a lot of topics to cover. A website can focus on one topic, has no limit to the amount of voices that can express their thoughts at any given time and gets plenty of exposure due to the popularity of this here newfangled IntraWeb thingy. Its the one place where fans can have equal time to agree or disagree with popular media opinion.

| Re: Keep Coach Fisher - KeepCoachFisher.com I visited the website and, while Jeff Fisher has won games in the past, the league is about "What have you done for me lately?" But at least both websites give a platform for both sides and let the fans decide. |

| Jeff proved his ability to coach and strategize yesterday (as if the past years weren't enough). The main thing that has changed has been the players. He doesn't have full control of acquiring players but given time I believe he will make the team a winner again. Ted |

That's basically the concensus of Titans fans here. About 60-70% seem to be in the support Fisher camp right now. I think everybody expects us to go with few or no wins this year. Next year will have to be an improvement or I expect the the Fire Jeff Fisher crowd to grow. Look forward to chatting more with you.

man, am i sorry to hear that, lol! Honestly, I think that last year is about as good as Vandy can hope for. Beating my Vols at Neyland had to be better than any bowl game could have been. We don't have a team forum for Vandy but feel free to post about them in the college football forum. You'll get at least a few people to chat with you, and we've had a big surge in Middle TN based members over the last few weeks. Thanks, Ross

To answer the first two Q's: having a website about your views on coaches, or any subject, goes back to the whole concept of the web back when the idea of hypertext was invented by Engelbart during the '60's. Putting your views on a website is a great use of the First Amendment. In terms of supporting Coach Fisher, I felt that something had to be said in his defense when I found out about firecoachfisher.com on SI. I agree with the "fire" guys in their right to express their opinion and promote their ideas. I felt that they were wrong, and wanted to have an opposing opinion. I knew that posting something by myself wasn't a strong enough message, so I put the question up to fellow Titans fans on the TOMB. I got immediate support, and found great partners in "TheOptymist" and "NDNDixie", otherwise known as Tricia Davenport, who's help was vital in making the site as good as it is (I am no web developer, thats for sure). The fact that we three have been able to make our point and have a place where fans could express their opinion on the subject makes me feel it was worth it, no matter the outcome. As for firing Floyd Reese... I am ambivalent on that. What killed us was the salary cap. He had some control over that situation, and if there is a reason for letting him go, it would be that one. The rebuild that has resulted in our poor performance this season and the last is not on his shoulders, beyond letting the cap get too high. We are in a cyclical rebuild, and no matter how much we hate it, we will have to live with it. As to the last question, please take note that you will have to decide if you want to spend the energy to create and maintain the site, but don't expect anything more than the warm, fuzzy feeling of doing what you feel is right. We at keepcoachfisher.com make no money off of the venture. I would expect that if we had tried, it would have killed the message. |

| Re: Keep Coach Fisher - KeepCoachFisher.com Hi Woof, welcome to GoTeamsGo I think you're right about websites and 1st Amendment rights. I've been on the web full time for several years, making a living by developing websites & other related activities. If a website gets the right exposure, it can be a tremendous vehicle for spreading the word about a topic. My last question wasn't really serious. It was more to highlight the current swirling exposure that the 2 Fisher sites have created/received. It also implies a question on whether additional sites on a related theme are useful or newsworthy. 1 site can be unique & cause a buzz. Is a 2nd site on a similar topic useful? Is a 3rd or 4th? Obviously, it depends on the situation and the sites involved. I was honestly surprised at the publicity generated by the original site. It looked like a haphazard attempt at grabbing some interest and generating some money by selling shirts. We had someone spam our Titans forum about it before any major media mentioned it. I thought it was pretty lame. OTOH, I was amazed at the press it received. To the credit of those who created it, they seemed to add more interesting content after they got publicity. Your site was alot more thought out & useful from the get-go. It's unusual that a 2nd site dealing with such a niche topic (the employment of Jeff Fisher in this case) would be better than the original but you guys put more heart into your site than the fire Fisher guys put into theirs. Hope you'll chat about the Titans & other teams with us. Good luck with keepcoachfisher.com

| Re: Keep Coach Fisher - KeepCoachFisher.com Fisher is a great coach. The front office has been more of a problem with big time spending a few years ago. We got smacked by the salary cap, and now have all new guys. I love Fisher and want to see him remain coach. |
