| Haynesworth suspended 5 games Tennessee Titans DT Albert Haynesworth has been suspended for five games for his actions during the Cowboys game on Sunday. Haynesworth stomped on Dallas center Andre Gurode's head and kicked him in the face in the third quarter, and was ejected for the flagrant penalty. The AP is calling this the longest suspension for on-field behavior in NFL history. Does the penalty fit the crime?

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games I agree that a 5 game suspension is too lenient. I love the Titans and am very frustrated with the way this season is going but does that allow me to stomp someone's face? If he had kicked him on a slightly different angle, pushing his nose up, he could have killed that player! I was sickened Sunday to see that kind of actions by any human being to another out of sheer frustration. But to see it in a Game, by a player of my home team, I was disgusted that Haynesworth had any connection to our organization.

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games hey monique, welcome to the forum Fisher had said, if he didnt think the NFL's suspension was enough he would add to it do you think there is a chance of that ? since this is the toughest there has ever been i think they will go with what there is, but i wish it was tougher

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games He got off light, but the words that are being used - "the most severe suspension since Noah came over on the Mayflower" - indicates that's about all that will be done. Plus, just when we all thought it was safe, Gene Upshaw says that the suspension MUST be appealled. Why? I dunno, I'm asking you. Why doesn't Upshaw or one of his minions set about defending safety in the workplace for Andre Gurode? Why not contact the Nashville police and see if we can't get ol Al to git right in his mind. "You run one time, you got yourself a set of chains. You run twice you got yourself two sets. You ain't gonna need no third set, 'cause you gonna get your mind right."

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games I'm sorry, but a five-game suspension, regardless of whether or not it is the longest in the NFL's history, is not long enough, and not acceptable. OK, so it'll cost him around $200K. SO WHAT? Haynesworth could probably spend that much without even blinking during a night out on the town. I've been a Titan's fan for many, many years. I'm still a fan, but like other folks, I'm disgusted that this dude is even associated with the NFL, let alone our team! If I were Fisher, I'd let Albert ride the bench for a good long while, even after his suspension is up, and let him think about his actions. If Haynesworth is truly sickened, disgusted, and remorseful of his actions on Sunday, he should understand. Lastly, I hope he's looking at getting some experience being a defendant in an upcoming prosecution, and for that matter, I hope he gets to spend some time behind bars (perhaps where he may experience what happens when a whole room full of people are incapable of controlling their emotions)!

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games I wouldnt be surprised to see him on FA after the 5 games suspension. Why would you want to keep a guy that would do that. He may be very good at his position but what he did was terrible.

Re: Haynesworth suspended 5 games No offense, but so what? Look at Haynesworth and look at what happened in the Miami Hurricanes game on Saturday. Does saying you're sorry excuse that kind of behavior? Of course not! Especially not in Albert's case, considering that he's a repeat offender.
