ok Titans fans

ive listened to many of you belly-ache and boo-hoo about the state of your team foe awhile now

seems most of you lay the blame directly on Fishers head, cant really say i blame you

question now is, who replaces him ?

you want him fired now, so what are your choices ?

if the Titans announced right now Fisher was gone, who holds practice Monday or Tuesday

(i realize Monday is normally a day off, but do the Titans really need a day off ? )

so, is Norm Chow your man ?

or someone else in-house ? someone from outside of the Titans family ?

or do you have to wait until the end of the season or post an interim coach until then so your choices are more ?

many of you are full of complaints and wanting to get rid of Fisher, so put up or shut up, who is your solution ?

I'm just here to throw out some names of possibilities for head coaching jobs in the near future...

Jim Fassel (current OC for Baltimore)
Gregg Williams (current DC/AHC for Washington)...although I doubt he leaves Gibbs
Ron Rivera (current DC for Bears)
Mike Trgovac (current DC for Panthers)
Maurice Carthon (current OC for Browns)
Donnie Henderson (current DC for Detroit)
Jerry Gray (current 2ndary coach for Washington)

Ron Rivera looks like the best choice on that list

defense win games and the Bears have a hell of a defense

Jim Fassel or Maurice Carthon (a Parcells disciple) would be a great choice for getting the offense going. Another possibility is Terry Robiske (WR Coach for Browns). How about Russ Grimm (current AHC for Steelers/former "Hog" with Redksins), Ken Wisenhunt (OC for Steelers), or Mike Mularkey (OC for Miami). If you ask me, Mularkey is deserving of another shot after the bad rap he received from Buffalo.

The Redskins will not let Gregg Williams go without compensation. If Bud Adams wants Gregg Williams, he'd better be ready to fork over some money and draft picks.

For Defense, another possibility is Tim Lewis (DC for NY Giants).

Fassel, Rivera, Williams and Mularkey all look like viable candidates. Robiskie is a good coach, but I see him filling an offensive coordinators job somewhere rather than jump to head coach. Tim Lewis and Ken Wisenhunt's units haven't played well enough for them to deserve serious HC consideration right now; maybe that'll change as the year goes on, but right now, they're just not getting the results.

You can count Williams out. In January, he signed a three year, $8 million extension with the Washington Redskins. He's making more than some head coaches. Is Bud Adams prepared to top whatever offer Daniel Snyder may make? Not only that, but the Tennessee Titans would have to come up with a good compensation package to get Williams from the Redskins. Daniel Snyder will milk Bud Adams for as much as he can get.

Me, i believe i should be the next Titans Head Coach ha ha well look at it this way i mean we are likely to have back to back TERRIBLE loosing seasons, we have a team that is full of rookies or under developed players, any new coach coming in is going to have to adapt to a new playbook, new inexpreienced players and in general a whole new team, because i dont believe we have anyone on the staff at the moment ESPECIALLY NOT Norm Chow, that should step up and be head coach, so why not me, i mean if George W Bush can get elected to power to terms in a row why cant i be the Titans new head coach ??

I just thought of another head coaching candidate for the Tennessee Titans: Butch Davis. He's from the Parcells tree and could be just what the Titans need.

I'm not a big college coach-to-NFL coach recruiter, but here are a couple of college coaches worth a mention (as far as people who might actually merit interviews):

Bob Stoops (Bud is a Big 12 guy)

Pete Carroll (I could see some sort of weird coach swap happening there)

That being said, I would rather not see either of those guys coaching the Titans...Jeff Fisher deserves a chance to coach through the rebuilding process. But I know that isn't point of the thread.

Points well taken. It seems that Fisher has lost control of the team and he is probably drained from all that is happening. For his sake, a change may be in order.

Bob Stoops already said he would not coach. Pete Carroll has tried and failed at the NY Jets and in New England, he coached a team that Parcells built. Plus, Pete Carroll wants control of football operations, neither Bud Adams or Floyd Reese would give him that.

If you want to see a coach swap, here's an indirect one. Jeff Fisher goes to coach the Cleveland Browns. Butch Davis, the former Cleveland Browns coach, takes over the coaching duties of the Titans.

hey jason, welcome to the forum

Carroll is one that i wouldnt consider

some people can do great in college and just cant seem to manage in the Pros (see Rick Pitino about that)

Pete had his chance with the Pats and didnt make it work

ITA! Titan's fans are poor losers. We knew 2-3 years ago that the next couple of years would be lean ones for us.

We used to sing Fisher's praises back then. Suddenly, Fisher is not a good enough coach? Gimme a break! Let's be sensible please

Now, Floyd Reese is expendible to me, Diamond was a much better GM, IMO.

The problem is that a lot of fans didn't understand the depth of the situation. A lot of people in the sportswriting world did however. I remembered Dr. Z saying early last year that we Titans fans would be eating a lot of beans and black bread for a while. He was right, and as you can tell on this and other Titans forums, a lot of foul gas has been expelled by those who didn't expect this diet.
