NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Rookie quarterback Vince Young will make his first NFL start for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

The first quarterback taken in this year's draft at No. 3 overall, Young had spot duty in the Titans' first two games. But the winless Titans are 0-3 and hoping the quarterback who led Texas to the national title in January can provide a spark to their offense.

they were going nowhere with Collins

they may not go anywhere with Young either, but he will be better off next year with this experience

About time. Glad to see Fisher finally is putting Young in there. They may not win a lot but at least the kid will develop and get some experience.

I am glad that he is finally starter just because I have always loved to see him play. I probably wont be able to actually watch it due to my region with the Browns, Bengals, and Steelers. Also, I wonder if this means they are going to open up the option playbook.

Do the Titans have the right personnel to run the option style of play?

Well they stated in preseason that they were making a play book just for him that would consist of the option.

the way i look at Vince starting is, what can we loose? we are already 0-3, Collins did play well in week 1 and 3 but hasnt given a winning performance yet so what the hell, throw Vince in, everyone knows that they Dallas D is gonna be coming hard for what ever QB we have in there, atleast if its a scrambler we may gain a few yards on a scramble sack than loose yards when Collins is running back. also i think with Vince's running ability it will give Henry and Brown a chance to really rest up becuase both are coming off injuries, we have an injured FB as well and i also believe the the more we keep the offense on the field the better, with a very non-mobile QB like Collins, once you take the pass out of the game we have no where to go, but with YOung he can convert thrid downs, run when he has to and keep plays alive, so the more we have the offense on the field the better we will do in the game

Well, I think we all pretty much agree - it's about damn time Young starts! Anyone want to venture any kind of a guess as to how well he does? Not just statistically, but also, is there any chance he can keep the Titans in this game with the Cowboys?

ooooooo im gonna go for a 7/10, although by half time that may change, that means statistically im thinking 11/18 passes or something along those lines with possibly 60-70 yards rushing, a TD or 2 and a max of 2/3 picks...all off the top of my head of course

i dont think he will get to many picks only on the basis he will be more likely to run the ball if he doesnt seem the route open up how he wants to, being a rookie i think he will run in and pick up a few rather than throw it and hope for the best. running needs no explaination although i do applaud coach Fisher for leaving it till today to announce he will start Young, this was excellent cos like with what happened to Vick last week when N.O prepared VERY WELL for his running, the Cowboys wont have had time to prepare for Young's scrambelling and i believe that wil work in our favour.

No, but there are going to be some potholes in the road. Young's going to make mistakes - and he definitely did so today. It wouldn't have mattered if he came out and put on a show like he did in the Rose Bowl, though, the way that defense was playing. Tennessee has a lot of upgrading to do.

I thought that was a great for starting but it wasnt the best. He is going to improve and be making some great stats.
