After Billy Volek's trade was done yesterday, Volek told a local TV station that the Titans had thrown him under the bus, blaming the Titans pre season problems on Volek and also saying that he was never told why he was kicked out of the starting quarteback position.

Coach Jeff Fisher today basically said Billy is full of crap.

Volek asked for a trade before the 2006 season and Fisher says he was pissed about it. Fisher felt that Volek didn't give 100% last year and that other Titans, including Steve McNair, were not happy that Volek was wanting to be traded.

After McNair was traded, Volek was named starter.

During the off season, they decided that Volek was not going to work out as starter.

"His 1st week as a starter, he got off to a bad start because he was untruthful with me, his head coach, about where he was & what he was doing" said Fisher.

Fisher says that when Vince Young was injured in practice, they were concerned about quarterback experience. They signed Kerry Collins & Billy Volek immediately came to Fisher & Floyd Reese to demand to be traded.

Jeff says the staff all agreed that Volek should be traded & Billy was quiet about the trade becasue he knew it was in the works.

Just yesterday, Fisher & Volek exchanged pleasantries & said nice things to each other. Then Volek says that the Titans weren't up front with him and threw him under the bus.

Fisher saud he had no choice but to discuss details & throw Volek under the bus since Volek tried to do that to the Titans & to the staff.

This is funny. Both sides arguing over what happened in the past when in all likelihood, both lied and didn't fulfill their promise. Volek fell out of touch with the Titans and they wanted to go in a different direction, you can't blame 'em for that.

And what has Volek done in the NFL to warrant such publicity lol. Sure he had a good few games when McNair was injured a year or so ago, but so what.

It is really way to hard to tell if either lied or told the truth. I wish that neither were really true but the most likey is that they both lied and thats all we can ever really guess on.
