ESPN reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/31/nfl">San Diego Chargers have acquired QB Billy Volek (Titans) in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick.

He was traded for a 2007 sixth-round draft choice. Didn't get much for him.

Billy Volek is no the 3rd string guy at the SD Chargers behind Philip Rivers and rookie Charlie Whitehurst.

Anybody think Volek will ever be a starter for any NFL team again?

this is occured exactly how i predicted, once again Volek thinks hes bigger than he is, hes asked for a trade cos he cant handle being a thrid stringer, now hes off to San Diego to sit behind another 2 players the difference being...oh yeah he gets to play "back at home" as his agent puts it, in California, good ridance to bad trash is all i can say

and do i think hes gonna be and NFL starter? you no the terms "when hell freezes over/ when the cows come home/ when pigs fly??" pick one of those ha ha

I think we should have kept Volek. We now only have 2 QBs. Collins and Young. Young is far to under developed to start an NFL game and be able to go the full 60 mins and come out with a win. Collins has shown to be decent in the 2 games, but he isnt doing good enough. Also, if Collins gets hurt then the Titans will have to look for another QB in the Free Agents and theres not going to be any even remotly decent to get. The titans are just starting to screw them selves over.

Collins- 23/57 280yds 0TDs 4INTS
Young- 10/23 133yds 1TD 1INT

Those arent stats of what are going to be a good season.

Tennessee needs to start Young and let him learn. The season is already down the drain. Collins is not the answer, and they gain nothing by sitting Young behind him.

Local TV caught Billy Volek at the airport leaving for San Diego, he joked he shouldn't have flown home after the game Sunday.

He said he's happy for the chance in Nashville but happy to be traded. Says the Titans never explained to him why he was demoted. He feels like he was the scapegoat for the offensive performance in the preseason but knows this is a business so no hard feelings. But he's disappointed that the Titans never really talked to him about anything.

Says he keeps in touch with McNair on a regualr basis.

Ditto...after their last lose...I think they would have been re-thinking it...and a 6th?...was that even worth it?

I can understand Volek's frustration. It seems he was just demoted for no obvious reason.

In any event, I can't see him getting much playing time in San Diego.

Does anyone know when he becomes a free agent?

you know what? i say good ridence to him. ive just read a report in which the normally quiet Coach Fisher has lashed out at Volek because he "threw this team and many of his players under a bus" a comment which Volek himself claimed was the other way around a few days ago.

everyone knows Jeff Fisher, hes a guys guy, he looks after his players and works in their best interest and in the best interest of the Titans and i believe that this need to come out to the media about Voleks behaviour is a true sign of how much of an ass Volek has been. he has apparently lied on numerous occasions since INHERITING this starting spot (by the way Billy inheriting means you are given it, it doesnt mean you have earnt it yet dumb ass!) and when coach Fisher was asked why he was dropped to the thrid QB he said "he was given pleanty of chances to perform and he didnt step up.

well all i can say is see ya Billy Boy, dont let the door hit you on your ass on the way out, Lord knows you dont wanna get hurt there if your gonna be riding the bench in San Diego
