Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

I'm not sold on how good we will be next year... We are still very young.

Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

I don't know, the Titans are surging and Vince Young is playing like Steve Young so why get rid of the artichect of this possibly bright future? The Titans were in rebuildng mode anyway so of course they were gonna lose some games but now they've got something to build on and to fire Fisher would be lunacy. Not only that but Jeff Fisher would be a head coach of another team in about 2 days if the Titans foolishly let him go.

Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

Judge's five coaches that are more than deserving
By Clark Judge
Jeff Fisher, Tennessee
He loses his first three, then turns to rookie quarterback Vince Young.
I would've loved to have been there when the decision was made because the
feeling in some parts of the NFL was that it amounted to an admission that
Fisher was playing for next year. And there was no guarantee Fisher would
be around next year. Anyway, it was a gutsy move, and look how it turned out.
After losing his first five this season, Fisher is 8-2 -- winning six in
a row with a rookie quarterback.
In those six wins there are quality opponents everywhere. Indianapolis.
Jacksonville. Philadelphia. And the Titans were ahead of Baltimore 26-7
before losing by one. Heck, Buffalo was 5-2 over its last seven when the
Titans met the Bills. They beat the Bills, too. Anyway,
I look at what Fisher has done, and I'm astounded.
He doesn't have much of an offensive line.
He has no franchise wide receiver.
Travis Henry isn't an elite back, though he's had a decent year.
And his defense is ranked dead last in the NFL.
Yet Fisher wins. And wins. And wins.
I know the quarterback is special.
But so is the head coach.
Over the years, Fisher has done some marvelous coaching with the Titans.
This might be his best job ever.

Don't Fire Jeff Fisher!

Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

firing Fisher at this point would be a HUGE mistake

he has a relationship with Young that will only get better

if Fisher is gone Young could regress as a QB and certainly wont get better as fast as if Fisher stays

go out this off season and get them a quality back and receiver.....real 1st rate and i bet you will see them in the 2nd round of the playoffs

no one will be calling for Fishers head then

Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

102-89 record overall looks good but in recent years he just hasn't done it. It is time for a shake up but who is out there good enough to do the job. If there is a young coach that could work with Vince Young out there then that might be the answer.

Re: Who Wants to Fire Jeff Fisher?

Well, not directly related to the topic, but with Cowher stepping down, Fisher is now the longest tenured coach in the NFL.
