Re: Why are Titans winless?

Great Article KnowingOne, I Actually Forgot About The Chargers Disrespecting The Towel Too.

For Those Of You Who Don't Know, The Terrible Towel Was The First Rally Towel Of It's Kind For Any Sport, We As Fans Are Very Sentimental When It Is Disrespected, By Other Athletes, Or Fans Of Other Teams Alike, And I Personally Believe That As A Collective Conciousness Of Our Fan Base, Bad Things Happen To Other Teams When It Is Disrespected. So I Say Again, Don't Mess With Our Terrible Towel, It Is Very Sacred To Us, We Don't Disrespect Other Teams Rally Towels, Even Though They Don't Have The Powers That Ours Does. And Please Don't Think This Is All Coincidence, It's The Curse Of The Terrible Towel. And This Is The Reason The Titans Are Winless.

History of the Terrible Towel

The Terrible Towel idea was created by Myron Cope in 1975, a sports broadcaster for 35 years for the Pittsburgh Steelers on radio station WTAE. He was told to come up with a gimmick to get the fans more involved in the game. Cope's idea came when he thought Steelers fans could use a yellow, gold, or black towel to wave at the upcoming playoff game. Just a household item, something simple, that wouldn't cost the fans any money. On December 27, 1975, the Terrible Towel made its debut when the Pittsburgh Steelers played the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers went on to win Super Bowl X that season.

Re: Why are Titans winless?

Hey tngrl, We Will Just Let The Super Bowls Speak For Themselves, 6 And Counting, Your Lucky To Even Have A Team, So Go Ahead And Stomp The Towel, See What Happens To Your Team. You Know That Indy Going To To Spank You, And That Will Be, How Many Consecutive Losses? Oh Yea, 7 And Counting. Oh Yea, One Other Thing, We Are Also The City Of Champions For A Second Time, And The State Of Champions Too. So, You Keep Dreaming About The 6 Super Bowls, And 3 Stanley Cups, And 5-7 World Series (Can't Remember Exactly Haven't Been A Baseball Fan For Quite Sometime) , When You Hit Those Numbers, Then You Can Talk Smack, Until Then, Nothing You Can Say Or Do, Means Anything To Me, Or Steeler Fans In General, Cause We Got The Trophies To Back Our Smack. Nuff Said

Your Teams Coach Obviously Does, Ha Ha He Called His Players Knucleheads For Doing It, He Also Said He's Got One Hanging In His Office, And At Home. (Now That's Respect) So, If You Choose Not To Believe It, That's On You, We Welcome The Disrespect, Just To See What Will Happen To The Next Team That Does It. You Know The Greatest Thing About It Is, We Are The Only Fans That Can Say This About Our Beloved "Terrible Towel" It's Called Terrible For A Reason!

Sure can't accuse you of being humble. Die-hard fans are going to be there thru the long-haul. - yes, even the nasty time we are going through now.

But in life one must learn to be a graceful winner as well as a graceful loser. Pass it on!!!

The Steelers are a great team - but how many teams have they shut out or beat by big figures. Yes - the Patriots beat us 59-0 (s/b 61-0) they did get a safety that they were not awarded.

When my Titans are on top of things, I have to remind myself not to let me sound as boastful as I have heard - cause, what goes around comes around.

Make it a good day!

No, I'm Not Humble, And The Only Reason I Boast, Is Steeler Fans Are Sick And Tired Of The Disrespect, Not Just From Other Teams, And Other Fans, But National Sports Broadcasters Too, We Hear The Little Digs That They Throw At The Steelers During A Broadcast. I'm Still Waiting For Big Ben To Get His Kudos, As One Of The Elite Quarterbacks In The Game Today, The Guy's Leading The League In Passing Yards Right Now, And Is Second I Believe, In Passing Percentage, Not To Mention 2 Super Bowls In 5 Years. So Yea I'm Boasting, Because I Live In A City With Three Of The Greatest Sports Franchises In Sports History, And As I Said Before, We Have The Back To Lay The Smack!

Re: Why are Titans winless?

Hey Steelerfan, you can't control what others think and say and blasting others only puts things into perspective. Enjoy the games while we have them.

Will be watching closely the game between Vikings & Steelers.

Favre is hot right now - curious to see if Steelers can cool him down any!

I will be pulling for the Vikings.

What else can you expect from a Tennessee Titan fan that does not believe the hipe about the terrible towel?

My team like all other teams make their own luck - right now my team needs lots of improvement. And when they do, and they will---------I guess we can credit your terrible towel with that also.

You know when we were on top in the season last year - you talk about not getting respect (Steelers) neither did we, and we deserved it just as much as any other team in the league. So quit crying in your beer about not getting respect.

Re: Why are Titans winless?

Will be watching 'at' the game as well on Sunday and also pulling for the Vikings. As said, when we were on top last year, we received no respect however, we just kept on winning. We've also had this unfortunate season shoved down our throats however, we keep that blue faith and our chins held high. Just as it should be.

Nah, The Terrible Doesn't Make Good Things Happen For Other Teams, Only Bad, And I Don't Drink, Nor Cry, And tngrl I'm Not Blasting Anybody, You Blasted Our Towel, I'm Simply Defending It Like All True Steeler Fans Would.
You See, It's A Thing Called "Pittsburgh Pride" All Pittsburghers Live By It, And You Wouldn't Understand It Unless You Lived Here. That Being Said, I Appologize If I Have Offended Anybody, It Was Not My Intension To Do So. See, We Also Have A Decency Side To Us.
